New Hyatt promo "For being you." 2x points after second stay. Apr 1- Jun 30

A new low I must say. A pretty shockingly bad promo.

Did they actually pay someone to come up with this? They could have cut and pasted from numerous SPG/MR promos.
Lame.

It's really starting to feel like this is the year when I abandon Hyatt status.

A strong Q2 promo might have made it worthwhile to do a bit of mattress running (especially during the rock-bottom UAE pricing during the summer), but I think I will just focus on Marwood going forward.

Thank you for bringing this promo to attention, Antonius66!

Honestly spoken I think it is not sooo bad as you state.

For non-elite members it is a fast way to boost the points and later have a lots of Club room upsellings just by using the points.

What happens if you book a double points rate? Does that mean 3x or 4x of base spend then?

While this is negligibly better than no promo at all, it's doing absolutely nothing to re-engender good will towards WoH for me, nor is it encouraging me to give any more revenue nights to Hyatt. I actually have 13 nights booked with Hyatt during the promo period and 1 with IHG. 3 of my 13 Hyatt nights are either all points or free stay certificates. So, if this were a normal promo, to hit 15-20 nights, I'd switch out the 3 free nights for revenue, switch my IHG stay at LAX to the HR, and mattress run 1-6 nights at HPs in Columbus. Now, I'm not encouraged to change my stay patterns in the least, and isn't that the entire point? Great promo, Hyatt.

Unlikely that I will have a revenue stay (or for that matter, two) during that period with Hyatt, but registered just in case.

Interesting that the Concierges didn't announce it here. I guess WoH is World of Disengagement from Flyertalk. They are probably snapchatting with their new target clientele.

I suspect they both double the base points and stack up, so 3X.
