But you clearly know that breakfast and/or lounge access is only intended for those that actually are registered and stay in the room... not for friends or colleagues that visit you.

Great if the property allows you the benefit, but don't pretend you know it's not what is intended.

WoH doesn't limit who you sleep with in any way. It can be same or opposite sex or your giraffe. They only thing they want is for you to have them overnight with you.

More tricky: If you take a family member and book a second room (not entitled for free breakfast), should the property honor two free breakfasts?

I have a 4 day stay at PH Tokyo. 3 nights all points and 1 night free night award. It took me two calls to do it b/c the first rep messed up but I was able to book 3 nights with DSU. They then said that they set aside the suite for me to stay in on the last free night.

I agree with others above that if Hyatt wants to play these games about DSU being available, that I would book the nights I need, apply DSU, and then book the rest. I really could care less about breaking their stupid T&Cs. If they downgrade me later, then so be it. At least I tried.

Just curious was that offer to pay for the suite upgrade for the free night, made by the hotel or Hyatt? Prior to check-in or while on site? How were taxes calculated? And since I'm playing 20 questions - curious if that night ended up being stay-credit-earning?

I emailed the GM in advance, and he offered the upgrade supplement. I wanted the confirmed upgrade rather than waiting to play the check in game.

So far no dice...since when they moved me back to the Park Queen (the room that points book into) it was done as a "force sold" (a term I hadn't heard before - but apparently means a manager over-ride) because that room type is now sold out. The only person who can modify a "force sold" reservation is the supervisor who applied the "force sold" in the first place - so cant apply TSU until that supervisor is available

I guess the silver lining in all this is seeing behind the curtain of how Hyatt works with the individual hotel owners...

I wonder if this is another IT limitation falling behind the new ability to apply TSUs to points reservations. I don't like not having anything in writing, but they were at least willing to give me the name of the hotel agent that confirmed the TSU on the hotel side for what that is worth.
Same issue for 7 nights points at Hyatt Ziva Cancun. Never got email conf, called a few times and was told all ok. Today I was told they stopped sending (seems to be points bookings then) these, and I had the agent use her private hyatt email to write a confirmation to me.

Under the old program, a suite upgrade showed online as "used" the very minute you booked the stay. Also, free award nights shows as "used" as soon as they were booked.

It seems to me that under the new program, suite upgrades are still in your account (they show as "available") until you actually use the certificate. Also, free room nights using a certificate still show as "available" until the stay happens.

However, when you use points for room nights, those points are still taken from the account immediately.

Do my observations match those of other Hyatt Globalists?

no. they mistakenly forgot to withdraw the cert. it will likely get withdrawn when the stay posts, if one is available at the time.

I have applied 3 of my 4 WoH TSUs and they have all been pulled immediately, and "Night/Upgrade Redeemed" with the name of the property has immediately appeared under "My Past Activity" in my WoH account. Unfortunately that is the same description for redemption of a point award and the free night award, but at least it is some record.

It's pretty inconsistent. I've made 2 TSU bookings, 1 got pulled right away 1 never did.

I made some bookings on Sunday afternoon. The points were pulled immediately but the other awards (free night certificates, upgrade certificates) were not pulled. That held true for more than 24 hours. But checking back this morning, everything shows up properly (i.e. the certificates and upgrades show as "used" instead of "available"). Apparently the new WOH program is so incredibly great that it takes longer to post things.

1 TSU pulled when confirmed, 1 TSU pulled, when stay completed (both on paid stays). I now have a 10 night stay at GH PDC, Room shows the room booked, 2 TSU show available, was told the Suite is blocked for me. I cannot make changes to the reservation "due to the special conditions". weird situations, and leaves the customer unclear what is really confirmed.

Ive had these issues as well - its annoying at some of the properties. This is why I always submit my suite upgrade awards via PM on here, so I have a record of the change and the confirmation.

I wish these were more streamlined in their implementation. Then again: hyatt IT.
