I stayed recently at the JW, two blocks down Beach Road. The area is impossible for pedestrians.

I find the JW better situated. The Esplanade MRT station is right there and you just need to cross the road to reach One Raffles Link or Raffles City malls.

It is super convenient to the MRT. I walked to Marina Bay Sands and then tried to find my way to the W. What a total cluster that was.

I did like the proximity to the airport, which Andaz will share.

Today they changed the hotel website from "Opening late summer 2017" to "Opening October 2017".

I cannot imagine it being a lower cat than the GH, which is cat 5, so certainly at least cat 5 and very possibly cat 6.

Betting it will be a 6 as well in order to distinguish it from the GH. When I was at the GH, there was some literature showing wedding plans/etc. Looks pretty nice!

From the room pics I've seen so far, I don't think it will be a cat 6 property, or at least I'm hoping it won't be.
I actually think cat 4 would be appropriate for this hotel...isn't Andaz supposed to be positioned below GH level?

Haha, get real..... the rooms look pretty nice. Most likely a cat 6, or maybe a 5 until they are running smoothly.

Singapore? 6. Zero chance it's a 4.

Yeah, we all know Singapore hotels are cheap and the Andaz brand is as well.... or are they.
We'll see but most new properties have been higher than I had expected.

The rooms do look really nice, but at 38 m2 they are smaller than I expected, possibly indicating that they do not intend to make it a as high-end as Andaz Tokyo, which is cat 6. I would not be surprised if it is cat 6, but am hoping for cat 5. There is no reason why it would have to be a different cat from the GH. The 2 brands are distinct enough to differentiate.
