I am going to try this but am trying to time it right. Has anyone obtained this purely by email? Or is fax the fastest way to do it?
I would like to get the start of the challenge to be as close as possible to my next stay. How long in advance should I start the process?

Status Mtach - SPG Platinum and Marriott Lifetime Platinum

Hi All,

I am Platinum at Starwood, and Lifetime Platinum at Marriott.

I certainly do not expect Hyatt to match Lifetime status, however, does anyone know if Hyatt would give me elite status if I fax them evidence of my status at Starwood and Marriott?

What level do you think I should respectfully request with Hyatt?

If anyone has any contacts for this, that would be great.

Thanks,

freeupgrade

Here's the thread you're looking for

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt...11-10-a-6.html

Hyatt stopped straight status matches last year and now offer a 3-month challenge I think. Check the thread and it should answer any questions you might have.

Why would Hyatt grant you elite status when you've proven that you don't meet the minimum stay requirements? Elite status needs to be earned. Hopefully, you'll have enough nights/stays to qualify again.

Can anyone who has completed the 60 day Diamond challenge verify when you received your four suite upgrade certs? After the 12 nights or as soon as the challenge started?

As soon as I started the challenge and "Diamond" showed on Hyatt.com. I started my challenge in February so I got 4 Diamond Suite Upgrades that expired 2/28/11 and I just got 4 more that expire 2/28/12.

I sent an email to Gold Passport Concierge on Hyatt.com and received info about the challenge the next day. I then faxed my credentials in and the challenge was started I believe 2-3 days after I faxed the credentials to Hyatt.

I didn't see a way to contact the GP Concierge on the Hyatt.com site. The only email I could find was [email protected]. Is this who you contacted?

4 diamond upgrade during 60 day trial

Did you use any of the 4 diamond suite upgrade during the 60 day trial? And they gave you 4 again that will expire on 2/28/12 or did not use any of the suite upgrade during the trial period and they just extended the expiry until 2/28/12.

Because i want to know if i have to use them before it expire on 4/28/11 if they are going to replace it.

When I emailed Hyatt about my 4 diamond upgrades and asked

"Do I get suite upgrade four times during the 60 days trial period and another four times once I qualify?"

this what they replied:

"Please be advised that you receive four suite upgrades per year. When
you finish the trial period and qualify as Diamond, you will not receive
an additional upgrades."

Also interested in finding out how soon the confirmed suite upgrades post to the account after starting the 60 day challenge.

I tried calling in to see if I could apply them to reservations I already made, but the CSR said that I wasn't eligible until completing the 12 night challenge. Would really like an upgrade for a stay in May for my sister in law's 30th birthday.

Looks like I just got mine too! Looking forward to staying in some suites, although I might switch rooms with the CFO of my company for a conference in San Antonio. Hey, it's a tough job market!

The reason that I got four Diamond Suite upgrades twice is because I started my challenge in Early February. So, I got the 2010 Diamond Suite Upgrades (the ones that expired on Feb 28, 2011) at the beginning of my challenge and the 2011 Diamond Suite Upgrades (the ones that expire on Feb 29, 2012) during the first week of March. Since you are starting your challenge now, you should only get this years Diamond Suite Upgrades.

Hope this helps.
