Has anyone been to Grand Club? Any review?

We are staying here now. Excellent club, easily one of the best clubs in North America. Located on the ground floor of the West Tower with nice views of the fountain and links. Outdoor seating available. Nice variety of food options, beer, wine and liquor. Extremely good service reminiscent of a Park Hyatt.

Any way for a lowly Discoverist to get access to this Club? Points? Hyatt Credit Card? Referral? Going to the hotel in ten days and would love to use the Club

Pay....?

A points booking for a club room or a points upgrade to one might also work if they are available.

Thanks all, but I've read this Grand Hyatt does not yet allow access to the Club if you were to book a Club Room. Only the higher level members of World Hyatt are being let in

Paying, even with points, for a club room = club access. They also state it on their website.

The problem here seems to be they don't offer club rooms for sale yet. I only see those offered next year.

So I wouldn't be able to use points just to access the Club?

You could try calling but I doubt it since club rooms cannot be booked on the website.

Quick impressions from a recent stay

We recently spent 3 nights at this property. Overall, we were very favorably impressed. They still have to work out a few kinks, but overall service was excellent along with a very nice hard product.

Property
The Grand Hyatt consists of two towers: East and West. As best as we could tell the East tower is what had been intended to be the Baha Mar Casino & Hotel. It consists of regular Grand Hyatt rooms (floors 1-20) along with "The Reserve" which is a hotel within a hotel complete with its own private entrance across from the Rosewood lobby (not yet open), check in area, and lounge (floors 21 and up).
The West tower is the original Grand Hyatt tower. This is where the Grand Club is. The West tower lobby is empty at this time.

The Grand Hyatt is currently the only Baha Mar hotel that is open. SLS is expected to open this fall, followed by Rosewood next spring.

Room
Our suite was on the 22nd floor of "The Reserve" (it appeared this was the only "The Reserve" floor that is open at this time.) The suite was nicely furnished and featured lovely Acqua di Parma toiletries. From the floor plan it appeared that "The Reserve" is almost entirely suites, with maybe 2 or 3 non-suites on our floor.

Grand Club
Spacious with lovely views of the fountain and links. Its located on the ground floor of the West tower. Above average food and beverage options, with excellent service.

F&B
Only a few of the 20 plus planned restaurants are open at this time. Apparently, Katsuya opened this week and we are looking forward to trying it out next time. Food at the beach restaurants was quite good.

Service
Very good. Occupancy was quite low during our stay so it will be interesting to see what happens when the entire hotel is open, but virtually all staff seemed happy to assist and smiles abounded.

Overall, we would highly recommend this property. This property has the potential to become a terrific Hyatt resort.

How did you book a suite? I was told that they don't have suites ready.

You’ll want to look for “residences.” It looks like Grand Suites (and club rooms) are currently bookable from January.

I see. ^ Did you book Residences directly or were you offered upgrade upon check in?

Baha mar

I'm here now in a deluxe ocean view room with balcony. I booked a points stay and will be getting 10% of my points back. The Grand Club is great. I used Explorist club upgrade to get access. The people working there are extremely nice and attentive. IMO, they don't yet know how to treat guests in the club so they are being overly attentive. Things will change when they're more than 2 sets of guests at the club at one time. They've made me omelettes and my son pancakes just by us asking nicely. I'm sure that can't continue for long. The service at the rest of the hotel is hit or miss. A lot of spaces are reserved for private groups but you don't know it unless you try to sit there. No signs posted and that's annoying. Overall I'm glad I came now rather than later even with the growing pains because I think it will become like the Andaz Maui in that once things get rolling, award space and upgrades will be hard to come by.

How were you able to apply Explorist club upgrade? I have Oct reservation but have been unable to use the club upgrade certificate due to no club rooms being available yet in the system
