Only exception could be properties that are brand new to Hyatt - usually there is a few months where they can opt out of these redemptions.

Question Has anyone tried to book an award night yet?

I called Diamond GP today to book a FFN award and was told they didn't think I could book one until I had earned them. She was willing to call and ask about it, but told me that they were so busy today with this promotion that it would take a long time to get an answer and suggested I call back tonight or tomorrow.

Based on the Q&A on this thread, I believe this can be done:

"9. Must I wait until the free night award has posted to my account or may I call reservations now and reserve the room in advance?
Yes, you are able to make reservations utilizing these awards anytime after October 1, 2009. Please mention that you will be using The Next Big Thing free night award."

Has anyone successfully booked one or know what code must be used?

I was told only agents can book them until we have earned them. That left me with the assumption that once we've earned the nights, we will be able to book those nights online. Til then, we'll have to call.

They couldn't book it either.

Why don't you book with points now and convert to FFN later. That must work.

Can I ask one thing just to make sure. This FFN round does not require payment by Mastercard, correct? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere but as all the recent FFNs were linke to either MC payment or there was an additional bonus is paying with MC I just wanted to make sure.

No mention of (or bonus) with MC this round.

Anyone has an idea if I go for the 3000 points option, will I still be entitled to get another bonus points promo (code G3 - which is offered for certain Hyatt properties until end of Nov.) and thus could get 4500 points per stay?

Yes, you can combine the G* (G1, G2, G3) bonuses and some other targeted bonuses.

A moderator should edit post #1 in this thread to correlate with the information provided in post #47 where Gold Passport Concierge states FFN is allowed when choosing miles.

Sooo now as a non-elite member on a 3-night stay I can get:

1) FFN from Next Big Thing (counts as 1 of 2 required stays for a FFN)
2) 500 base DL Skymiles for choosing miles at checking
3) 2,500 bonus miles for staying 2 nights

Collecting a G Bonus, on top of the previous 3, is not possible right?

That is correct. You can either have points plus any appropriate points bonus, or you can have miles plus the mileage bonus. If the property has a G2 bonus, I'd likely take points myself. (given as an example)

Therefore, Hyatt Gold Passport members can choose points or miles for their base stay and will earn either free nights or bonus points, as long as they register in The Next Big Thing and choose the reward they want to earn.

I hope this information assists you in your travels. Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Karen,

Thank you for that relaxation of that condition for earning free nights, should one wish to do so.

However, I hope you would make a further clarification to the above, as you mention that the GP member can choose either points or miles for their "base" stay.

Does the above mean that once a GP member chooses -- for example -- miles for their "base" stay, must they choose only miles on all subsequent stays in order to earn a free night?

Or, can one freely decide to earn another type of currency on a subsequent stay, e.g. GP points for the above example, and still earn a free night, having completed two (2) stays within the qualification period?

I believe you meant to imply the latter, but the use of the term "base" can connote a futher restriction that GP may not have intended.

Thank you.
