Update in Hyatt BRG policy (April 2019): If your BRG claim is approved, you can choose either 5,000 World of Hyatt points or an additional 20% off the matched rate for your stay (defined as consecutive nights at the same location). Rates available on websites that require membership which is free of charge, or where membership is automatically created as part of the booking, are eligible for BRG claims.

Recent Experiences Using the BRG (2018 and later)

Update in Hyatt BRG policy (July 2017): if your BRG claim is approved, Hyatt will match the comparable lower rate, but will no longer offer a further 20% discount on the matched lower rate. Instead, after your stay on the BRG approved rate, you will receive a US$50 credit (or equivalent amount in the currency of your country of residence) to use on a future stay (completed within 12 months) booked on a Standard Rate, Advance Purchase Rate or Member Rate on Hyatt.com.
Q. How do I receive the $50 credit?
A. About 3-4 days after your BRG stay, Hyatt will email you a unique rate code to apply for your new reservation. You can either click on the link in the mail to book the reservation or manually enter it into the booking at Hyatt.com.
Q. Can I use the code more than once?
A. No. The code is invalid when it has already been attached to a reservation.
Q. Can I use the code to lower a rate like AAA or Double Points?
A. No. The BRG code books into its own unique rate class and can't be used with any other promotional rates.
Q. What happens if I cancel my reservation with the BRG code applied?
A. The code will can be re-used for another reservation. For this reason, DO NOT DELETE THE EMAIL FROM HYATT UNTIL AFTER YOUR STAY.
Q. What happens if a lower base rate appears available after I book the BRG rate?
A. You can cancel the first reservation (assuming there's no penalty) and then rebook using the code for the lower rate.
.................................................. ..........
If you are dissatisfied with the response to your BRG claim, and it was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Omaha (9805 Q Street), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Nebraska Attorney General's Office (Consumer Protection Division). Note that the online complaint form requires you to fill in a correspondence address in the US (though you can state a preference to receive correspondence by e-mail rather than by post). As reported in Post # 2691, if the AG's Office decides to investigate, it is possible that Hyatt will review your BRG claim again and, in addition, offer points for the inconvenience.
If your BRG claim was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Marion (1120 North Carbon Street Suite 70), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

I would be tempted to post the screen shot to a web site and invite them to open the URL.
(That's not a security issue because nobody else would even know the URL, which would be something like mydomain.com/hyatt/random-stuff/more-random-stuff.jpg)

Apparently the brg department cannot get to the sites m.expedia.com or m.venere.com. Never had such an issue with Marriott or SPG or Hilton or Choice, successful with all of them with m.expedia.com. Pretty ridiculous.

Is it safe to assume that the price is different between the mobile site and website?

Just got a BRG approved for Park Hyatt Tokyo. The rate they've given is $444 per night for a Park Deluxe King. The rate they beat came from Agoda (so another tick for them!). I should note that before they approved the claim, they rejected one of mine for HotelTravel.com.

Had another successful BRG claim today
Hyatt Regency Perth
Arrival Date: 1 night in November
Room Type: Club View King
Hyatt Rate: $355.00 AUD inc GST
helloworld.com.au Rate: $333.50 AUD inc GST
BRG Rate: $268.80 AUD inc GST
I don't have enough posts but someone else might want to add Hello World to the wiki.

Once Hyatt notices it can't compete with particular website, it's quickly labeled as non-qualifying. Their best price 'guarantee' is a little questionable.

I found this site googling this BRG program and thought I would post my experience.
I'm a platinum member through United club card and thought I would see what kind of perks this gets.
This is for the Andaz on Maui ocean view king room. This is the rate the Hyatt site is giving me. $505
So I find this rate of $449 on a travel site.
I filled out the form and got this reply.
Granted they might be right as this was a request quote but as you can see in the 2nd pic, there is also an immediate price of $499, which is $6 less than Hyatts price and this should have been honored. I'll send an email back as see what happens. Kind of disappointed right now as we usually exclusively stay at Hyatt hotels on our vacations. Hate when companies try to give the run around to loyal customers.

I am excited to hear of your desire to stay with us and your interest in our Best Rate Guarantee program. After researching, I was unable to validate your submission based on the third party website not being immediately, reservations are on request. Additional information regarding your submission is available below.

After researching, I was unable to validate your submission based on the rates for the Ocean View King on Easyclicktravel is listed as "on request" only. This means that the rate and availability is not immediately bookable, and therefor we are unable to validate the claim.

I emailed them to look again at the picture and notice that the price is not on request but available immediately.
So, they changed their price from $505 to $499.16. Effectively beating the 3rd party site by 54 cents overnight. . LOL
You can't make this stuff up. Excuse after excuse, next thing I'll hear is that the 3rd party site is not accepted. Unbelievable the extent Hyatt goes to deny your claim.

It took perseverance but I was finally able to get Hyatt to accept a BRG claim against m.easyclicktravel.com.
The first time they declined it due to the website requiring a "membership." The second time they weren't able to access the mobile website rate and said they could not find any publicly available rates online. I sent a few screenshots and said they needed to make sure to use the mobile version of the website and they were finally able to validate the claim.
Location: Grand Hyatt DFW
Date: 3 nights in September
Room Type: Standard King
Hyatt Rate: $199
m.easyclicktravel.com rate: $132
BRG Rate: $106
