Update in Hyatt BRG policy (April 2019): If your BRG claim is approved, you can choose either 5,000 World of Hyatt points or an additional 20% off the matched rate for your stay (defined as consecutive nights at the same location). Rates available on websites that require membership which is free of charge, or where membership is automatically created as part of the booking, are eligible for BRG claims.

Q. How do I receive the $50 credit?

If you are dissatisfied with the response to your BRG claim, and it was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Omaha (9805 Q Street), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Nebraska Attorney General's Office (Consumer Protection Division). Note that the online complaint form requires you to fill in a correspondence address in the US (though you can state a preference to receive correspondence by e-mail rather than by post). As reported in Post # 2691, if the AG's Office decides to investigate, it is possible that Hyatt will review your BRG claim again and, in addition, offer points for the inconvenience.
If your BRG claim was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Marion (1120 North Carbon Street Suite 70), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

Is there a such thing as TOO many BRGs? I'm seeing a lot of hotels cheaper through comparing rates on TripAdvisor and I want to grab them now for "possible" future travel. Since they all have the standard hotel cancellation, I see no harm in just "holding" the room at this 20% off rate until plans are confirmed.

Bear in mind if too many customers abuse a policy, the organization could change the rules.

I have done tons. I have lost track but likely over 20. No negative impact here nor am I even slightly concerned. If they don't want people to brg then they will get rid of it. I always check for a brg...why wouldn't you? Even if you have tons of money, you still want to spend the least amount necessary so who wouldn't?

So another silly question (sorry I am total noob in this area). If a Hyatt is offering a special promo, buy 4 nights, get 5th free and the rate is based on the Hyatt Daily Rate for 4 nights, will they approve a BRG rate for 4 nights and still give the 5th free?

@DHalltheway. Thanks for your quick response! Honestly I'm not 100% sure that I wanted them to honor the 5 night rate anyways. I figured we would just move hotels on the last night and it would allow me to get another stay credit.

that citing is absolutely wrong.
So, it seems that this website cannot be used as competing website anymore.

A reservation in HotelsClick should only be considered confirmed when the status of the reservation changes to "Confirmed" in the Summary Page.
As soon as the payment has been validated, you will receive a confirmatory email with a voucher attached to give to the hotel.

The BRG applies only to the total cost for the entire stay, not any individual night. So only compare the cost of the Hyatt reservation for 5 nights (4 paid + 1 free) with the competing travel provider's rate for 5 nights. Only the total for the duration of the stay matters for purposes of the BRG.
