Come back to Hyatt - 3000 points
I used to be Diamond, then became Platinum for several years, now I am just plain old gold. Today I received an email saying It has been quite some time since you last visited Hyatt Hotels & Resorts™ to enjoy the benefits of your Hyatt Gold Passport™ membership. Because we value your membership, we invite you to earn 3,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points on your next eligible stay by March 21, 2009. With 3,000 points, you can enjoy a Regency/Grand Club™ room upgrade on a paid stay at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
So I guess Hyatt is pulling out all the stops to get revenue.
P.S., I didn't quit Hyatt because I don't like their hotels or program. I just find that in my current travels the top hotel chains available are IC's, Starwood and Accor.
I see a similar message when I log in goldpassport.com, but I've never received any email offer... I wish I would get one like you get, even with 1000 bonus.
I got a free night offer last week to come back to Hyatt:
It has been several months since you last stayed at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts™ and enjoyed the privileges of your Hyatt Gold Passport™ Diamond membership. Because we value your membership, we invite you to receive a free night when you complete an eligible stay at one of our distinctive Hyatt locations worldwide through March 12, 2009. Once you have completed your stay, the free night award will be good through June 30, 2009.

I got this offer last year too after I had not stayed in any Hyatt brand for several years. Funny thing was I got it after I already had a stay booked with them upcoming. Got the free night though.

We realize you have not visited Hyatt Hotels & Resorts™ to experience the elite benefits of your Hyatt Gold Passport™ Diamond membership in quite some time. Because we value your membership, we invite you to receive a free night when you complete an eligible stay at one of our distinctive Hyatt locations worldwide through September 18, 2008. Once you have completed your stay, the free night award will be good through December 30, 2008.
Therefore I completed two eligible stays and redeemed two free nights as well.

Not cheating at all - the two timeframes for the free nights didn't even overlap. Of course, I'm never going to receive this offer, as I've yet to go two months without a Hyatt stay since opening the account ...
"Thank you for your recent stay at Hyatt Place xxxxxxxx. We trust your Hyatt Gold Passport™ membership made your stay more enjoyable. To make your future Hyatt stays even more rewarding, you will earn 1,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points on each of your next three eligible stays by April 20, 2009. With 3,000 points, you may enjoy a Regency/Grand Club™ room upgrade on a paid stay at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts™."
We recognize you have not recently stayed with us and we would like to welcome you back to Hyatt. As a Hyatt Gold Passport® member, you can enjoy free nights fast. You will earn five points for every eligible dollar spent at Hyatt and can redeem a free night with no blackout dates or length of stay requirements for as few as 5,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points.
