To be fair I would say no. My guess is that Hyatt processes the awards you earn and then just sends the correct number of miles to United. I doubt United's sytem adds the bonus. But of course, I could be wrong!
I received an email from United promoting this bonus offer with the link to register so I would say that we should not worry about the validity of UA promotion.

For an offer such as "Sunshine on Sale" offered at some So.Cal. properties, which offers 3 nights for the price of 2, you will only receive 2 nights' credit for the "More than a Bonus" promotion. Probably obvious, but I still called to confirm this.
Sorry for my ignorance but does this promo apply to consecutive nights only?
For instance, if I were to stay at one Hyatt hotel for one night and then move to another Hyatt hotel the next night, would I earn the bonus points for 2 nights?
Alternatively, if I were to stay at a Hyatt on Monday for one night and then stay at the same or a different Hyatt on Thursday for one night, would that count as well?

If you jump from one Hyatt to another, you will earn the bonus. Having back to back reservations at the same hotel - i.e. check in on Monday, check out Tuesday and check back in at the same property is viewed by all hotel chains as one stay, therefore no bonus. Last week I was in Indianapolis and I did Hyatt Regency(HR), Hyatt Place(HP), HR, HP Sun-Wed and got 4 stays credited and the 6000 point bonus.

Thanks docr775, but isn't this promo based on nights, not stays? So if I check in on Monday, check out Tuesday and check back in at the same property, wouldn't that count as 2 nights (thus qualifying for the bonus), even if it were considered as one stay?

This bonus promotion is night based (and not stay based) so you'll earn under this promotion either way. However, Diamond Amenity and / or Gx bonuses are still stay based so you'll earn somewhat less in total.
bbklumpur - no need to even check out on Tues in your example - btw welcome to active posting on Flyertalk and our Hyatt forum.

I was told by the hotel front desk agent at the Hyatt Orlando Airport, that this 20,000 point promotion; was a direct responce to Radisson Goldpoints 20,000 bonus offer. I did not know, Hyatt considered Radisson a key adversary, however we are in lean times.
Stayed 6 nights at a Hyatt Place. Earned almost 18k points with all the bonuses (12k alone from this promo). I'll find two more night before 4/30 and grab that extra 8k bonus. It's nice to see a night promo as opposed to all the stay promos we see everywhere.

I sent her a pm - her answer was yes, you can get both, In my case, I already have the first 8 nights done -
"After you have completed eight nights and have chosen points for your stays, the maximum 20,000 bonus points for the point portion of the promotion has been completed. However, if you stay eight more nights and choose miles for your stays, you may receive the bonus miles for up to eight nights, earning a maximum of 20,000 bonus miles with this promotion. As you had indicated in your previous message, you would want to enroll to receive either points or miles, depending which you choose for your stay."
Great news, and thanks to Gold Passport Concierge!

Thanks for sharing the good news
Another question though - If I choose miles instead of the points, do I still get diamond points and Gx points for each stay?
