A couple of times recently the account stated
your courtesy card has been credited with hyatt points
but it says Diamond on my account when I sign in.
and when I called GP the first time it happened they said no you are diamond.,
its really weird.
because we had another room booked in another diamonds name and it just stated hyatt gold passport account on his account.
has this happened to anyone else
if it was just once I wouldnt be interested but its now happened a couple of times recently

Since I never heard of a courtesy card, I did a Google search and found this old FT thread that has a LOT of bickering and some mention of benefits like upgrade to best room, special VIP amenity etc.

This is what it means
A courtesy card is given by the management and it means you will be given the best hotel room available and you pay the lowest price (indeed this often means the presidential suite)

My contact in Tokyo and I discussed the Courtesy Card briefly... without going into too much detail, you get a suite (or better)... no questions... it IS the "Global Services" level at Hyatt...

Courtesy Card holders are treated like royalty and definitely get the presidential suite over anyone else that would stay at the hotel. They also get a whole bunch of food and beverage service for free and housekeeping takes great care to make the room as clean and comfy as possible. You get upgraded linens, magazines, whatever newspaper you want etc etc
