Award stays don't count. It has to be an "eligible rate" as defined in Gold Passport terms and conditions, i.e. it has to be a points-earning rate. Even then, my success rate is that the bonus posts automatically, exactly one-third of the time. Two thirds of the time, it requires a phone call to Hyatt customer service to get the points posted correctly.

Fun times when the property locator can't find PH Busan and the map view is just that. Not another selection method. 500 points be damned.

I can't even log in... all it says is "Please Wait..."

Tried clearing app data, checked for an update (there is none). Very sad showing by the Hyatt mobile team.

500 bonus point promotion is back, Sept 1 - Nov 30, 2016
Noticed on a recent stay that I have received a 500 point bonus for booking via their app.

Upon clarifying with Hyatt, they have noted the 500 point bonus promotion period is 9/01-11/30/2016. Cash and points count, 100% points do not.

I don't think I've seen this promotion anywhere, so there you go. Nice little bonus.

I have a stay booked via the app for 15 Sep. I will update with the results. I do wish Hyatt would give a heads-up about such promotions though.

FWIW - some rates are not showing up on both the App and the Website... the website has lower rates for a number of dates than what is available in the app. In specific certain "worldwide rates" do not show up under corporate rates. Anyhoo. This is awesome. Thanks Hyatt.
