Is point suite upgrade inventory different from DSU inventory?

Tried to book 1 nt and upgrade to a suite with 6K points. Qualified suite is available for sale online. Diamond line agent says that it can be done with DSU (which i am not willing to waste) but not with 6K points as the upgrade inventory is different.

Don't recall encountering this in the past (with a very limited sample size) - can anyone comment?

DSU> points suite upgrade> credit card nights. At least I hope this is true.

This happened to me before. The inventory does appear to be different.

Per my Hyatt agent... DSU and credit card nights are "promotional awards" and have better availability than point suite upgrades.
