hi,
just wanted to buy some new Certs and was suprised that the page has been updated ( godd) and that there will be a new Top category called exclusiv, which i guess will mean, that we will also see a new Point Top category....
I really don't get it. The PH Seoul wasn't participating before, but considering the daily rates it doesn't make sense to buy a cert here.
PH Sydney is still available (as "inspire" and "exclusive"), I really expected they will drop out but it seems that now all properties are available at least as "exclusive" location. so it doesn't seem to be a negative change...

Wouldn't surprise me that locations like Sydney and Maldives would shortly only accept Exclusive certs.

Not sure if you were able to use the lower certs at these properties previously.
I'm pretty sure that the PH Tokyo & Seoul were Inspire level before. I know that PH Paris & HVC properties were not available on stay certs before.
48Lex at the Exclusiv level surprises me since the 2 Andaz in NYC are at the Inspire level and 48Lex is at a lower award redemption category than those.
I wouldn't categorize this as necessarily bad news though - pricing for the Exclusiv level isn't announced yet (it appears) but even at $500 / night, it's still cheaper than "regular" bookings at some of the properties (PH Paris & Zurich come to mind). Whether these stay certs are a "good deal" was always a YMMV issue.

Many of the Park Hyatt's stopped taking any level of stay certificate a while back. I have a list from late 2010 that I saved and both PH Tokyo & PH Seoul had stopped accepting any type of stay cert by that point.
So all of the new Exclusive level properties are properties that previously were not accepting any level of stay certificates in late 2010.
So as long as they don't recategorize any properties, this change is a big plus to me. All properties seem to now be participating - including the newly added properties (Avias, Sierras, etc.) and previously non-participating properties!

Seoul wasnt on the list before. It was one of the properties who didn't accept any certs (like Hotel Victor, Vendome, Zurich and I think PH Tokyo - but not 100% sure about the last one).
The Hyatt Lex 48 case is very strange indeed.
So it really depends what the price of "exclusive" certs will be - my bet is about 479$...and that would be a decent deal considering the daily rates at Vendome and Sydney...and don't forget the Maldives...
I'm surprised to see Hyatt 48 Lex on this list... it's only a Category 4.
I was surprised by this also but it seems like their management enjoys coming up with unique ways to encourage people to stay at one of the Andaz's instead. Diamond breakfast anyone???
Where can one buy cert and how do they work? Looking to spend a few nights in Paris next April. Should have two nights for free form Chase card and thinking about a third one.
I must admit that I didn't have a clue what everyone was talking about regarding stay certificates and levels like Inspire and Exclusive. The Hyatt website doesn't have a search function. I finally googled it and found a link. Now I am at ease again.
We thought it was important to clarify that the Exclusive Stay Certificates are only available through certain programs and at this time are not publicly available.

Are there any plans to sell them regularly in the future?
