The shortest flight from Male Domestic terminal to Kooddoo Domestic Airport is ~55 minutes and the longest flight takes ~1 hour 45 minutes due to a ‘stop over’ in Kadhdhoo Domestic Airport.

A scenic and short speedboat journey of approximately 30-40 minutes (weather dependent) will follow as the final stretch of the journey to our island.
Any last minute name changes on domestic flight ticket are subject to a fee levied by the Maldivian Air. All such changes will be charged at the rate of USD 100 net per person. The exact flight timings are released two days before departure, but tend to be around these times:

Excess baggage will be charged and is subject to space availability and terms and conditions of the Air Carrier.

Map of the resort
Best Villas
Water villas: Generally the higher number the better. #51 is the most private
How to save money during stay
Have late breakfast (breakfast is free for all guests except if you are redeeming points), skip lunch, and only pay for dinner
The Saturday free cocktail social (manager's reception) is at 6:30pm
Bring family?
This resort is not orientated for children. No kids club, pool is not suitable for young kids, and you will need to pay the transfers for each child, and plenty of PDA.
That said, some families have loved their experience here. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...hadahaa-review. If you bring children the Hyatt does provide sitting service for $20/hour.

Also note that the resort charges $250 per child age 3 and up per night (even if the child does not require an extra bed). Only kids 2 and under are free. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...a-bed-fee-ever
Wifi
As at January 2022, the resort's wifi speed is 10-12Mbps.
Tipping
The management views employees as each part of a team, with no one more important to the hotel's success. No one wants to order room service if the groundskeeper or housekeeper has not created an inviting place to enjoy it for instance. So employees share equally the 10% service charge added into everything, including the room charge. Tipping beyond that is not necessary, but at your discretion. Unlike the service charge which is shared with all employees on the entire property, if you choose to add additional gratuity to the bill for a meal or an activity, that money is shared amongst employees of the department responsible for that meal or service (e.g. additional gratuity on a dive center bill will be shared amongst those employees, while additional gratuity on a Dining Room bill will be shared amongst the food service employees). Employees are also allowed to keep cash tips that they receive directly. Employees are rewarded with trips and other gifts when their outstanding service is brought to management's attention. A great way to reward a good employee is by letter to management.
See this post which provides more details http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22508516-post1525.html
Ipad App
There is an Ipad in each room that has an app with a lot of useful / interesting information. If you have an Ipad, you can search & download the app for: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. It doesn't work on an iPhone due to the page size. Some info may be out of date or missing, so check with the resort.

True but you could split into two separate awards and spend some time in UAE

11 days here if you are not diving is a long time IMHO

Are you flying the same itinerary back?

Do 7 nights at the PH Hadahaa and spend the other 4 in Dubai/Abu Dhabi. If travelling in F/J EY will Chauffer you to anywhere in the UAE.

PH DXB for 3 nights, 1 night at the PH AUH and 7 at the PH Hadahaa is our itinerary. You could book IAD-AUH-x-MLE as a split award then MLE-AUH-IAD as a single award.

My thoughts exactly. If you can swing the miles, turn it into two separate awards.

Another option would be to take a short flight to Sri Lanka and spend a few days there. British Airways flies this route if you have Avios to burn.

Thanks for your thoughts! Yep, we're flying the same itinerary back. I'm going to look into switching my reservation to IAD - AUH (award), AUH - MLE (cash/separate ticket), and MLE - AUH - IAD (award). This will give us time in Abu Dhabi/Dubai.

Wish I had Avios to burn!

I'm concerned that we'll get bored. We plan on doing snorkeling and a few other activities, and a lot of relaxing.

If you think this is too long, any suggestions on other destinations while we're out there. We have about two weeks total, so depending on how long we're at the Park Hyatt Maldives, we may have several days to explore other countries. We're from the east coast of the US and I'd like to maximize our time in that part of the world.

Thanks!

11 nights are not really to long, what we did is split them between the PH and the nearby Robinson.

Eleven nights is certainly not too long to stay in the Maldives, but it is probably too long to stay at the PH, which is a smaller resort. If one is an avid diver a long stay could be perfect, but otherwise I worry that it could get boring after a week or so.

If it is an option, combining with another resort close to MLE would work well.

It won't get boring:-) We did not get bored at Fesdu either, where we stayed eight nights.

We combined it with the Robinson in the same atoll - why go back to Male?

No what's weird is that most of the review threads have started to go downhill so fast because people feel they need to post all sort of nonsense instead of actually reviewing a property. Start a separate thread for all the bickering and stick to reviews for those that plan on staying at a property.

The point of pairing a remote resort with one close to MLE is to simplify transfers, of course staying in the same atoll also makes sense.

Having stayed here twice, this is my 2 cents.

Our first trip was 7 nights and we felt is was too short, especially given the distance travelled to get there. Our last trip was for 8 nights and we still did not want to leave. We just booked our next stay for 9 nights late this year and hope it will feel sufficient.

As others have said, this is not a large resort so if you need activities to keep you busy, it will ge boring, that is just a fact. I can snorkel everyday here and never feel like I have seen it all. We also enjoy doing the basic Maldivian fishing activity and eating our catch once or twice per trip. That is about all we do for activities besides just sitting on the beach or room balcony and we never get bored. I think the length of stay is extremely subjective so if you can deal with solitude for 11 days go for it, otherwise as others have mentioned, break the trip up.

BTW we are also coming on AA miles and normally choose Cathay so we can stop somewhere in SE Asia. Same amount of miles for First class as it takes to go business through the Middle East. For our next trip, we are going to spend some time in Thailand before continuing to MLE. We would stay longer in MLE but sadly cannot afford another 4-5 days!

We looked at CX, but the flight arrives very late meaning you've lost a day, and the flight back to HKG is 6 hours overnight. Even in J you would get very little sleep.

I much prefer a midday arrival knowing that it will be between four to six hours before you get to the resort.

BA won't be flying to Sri Lanka by then (poster goes in June). The last flight to Sri Lanka is March 28. Maldives also goes seasonal too so will only operate in the winter months.

What I would do for a 10 night stay here

I guess, if you don't just think about beach and ocean and that kind of paradise like everyday you're not actually there, then 10 days might be too long.

Going via MLE costs you a half to full day, going to a neighbour island is just a thirty minute boat ride.
