End of June booking. I'll hope for a soft opening and deal with issues. Non refundable airline tickets - my mistake. I really didn't see this coming and unless Hyatt wants to put me up at the One and Only there's no place I'm really interested in. This stinks.

Grand Hyatt to open in the Bahamas

I'd settle for the Cove at Atlantis for my $100 a night.

Grand Hyatt to open in the Bahamas

It shouldn't be ones mistake booking air tickets end of June when they announce a March 27th opening. They even moved up the opening.

I'm definately not interested in being shuffled to Melia. Been reading the facebook posts and people who have seen it seem very sure it's not opening in June. I've got 2 award rooms tied up in this mess. I feel worse for people who had diamond suite upgrades they burned. Trying to optimistic, but it's a sinking feeling.

They're pretty adamant on Facebook that they're opening on June 1. Yea, good luck with that...

Which Facebook page are you looking at? I don't see much in the way of updates at https://www.facebook.com/GrandHyattAtBahaMar?fref=ts

Good luck on your stay. However, I'd dial my expectations back a bit - staying at a property when it first opens will not be flawless but hopefully better than the experiences of early guests at the Jamaica Zilara/Ziva property.

3 cancel trip and get 20000 points per night for my trouble and reimbursed airline cancellation fees.

While I was upset that we decided to cancel our trip since we don't get too many family vacations. I think Hyatt did a good job correcting the situation.

Option 1 wasn't a good option for us since we don't know when we can make it back to Nassau.
Option 2 didn't work for us since we used points to book our trip I wasn't going to change and pay cash.
I think the 3rd option works best since we have the points to use as we please.
What were your offers?
Out of curiosity, what was the discounted rate at Atlantis? I have a points booking for June, and expecting that the hotel won't be open, I'm wondering about my options. Thanks!

Good question, but I would want to know which part of Atlantis. If I had to go there, I'd want the Cove.

I didn't ask since it wasn't option for us.

Grand Hyatt to open in the Bahamas

Maybe the Hyatt rep can comment on this article. http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2015/4/16/102540/877/hotels/As_Baha_Mar_is_Delayed_Again_Until_July%2C_Can_The y_Recover_From_This_Epic_Opening_Fail%3F

Is this just for the Baha Mar Casino and Hotel or is this for the Hyatt as well?

Good Afternoon Flyer Talkers!

The Golf Course is currently open and the Casino will be open on the same date as the hotel.

Thanks!

The Diamond line quoted a $43 (!) resort fee at this property.

Would the Concierge confirm this please, and also comment on:

-whether the fee applies in the case of points-only bookings, and

-whether it is reduced or waived for Diamond members.

Thank you!
