What are the benefits of the card?
- 3 points/dollar spent at Hyatt
- 2 points per dollar spent at restaurants, airfare, car rental
- 1 point for all other charges
- No foreign exchange fee
- Annually, on renewal, one free night at up to a category 4 hotel and is valid for 12 months
Typically a day or two after the close of the billing cycle in which you reach spend threshold.

It's a Chase Card. Does that mean that if I have more than 5 new open lines of credit in 24 months, I will be automatically denied? This card is not currently under the 5 cards in 24 months Chase application restriction.
It looks like the Hyatt website will let me use my anniversary category 1-4 cert for any property, including those above category 4. Is this for real?No. Even if the system accepts your attempted reservation, the property will not honor the cert at check-in. Accept the fact that your cat 4 cert is just that.

The awards expire one year from the date of deposit (typically the date on which the required spend is met, which may fall in the middle of a billing cycle). All stays must be completed by the expiration date.
When I view my free-night awards, why is the button to start the redemption/booking process missing?You no longer need to go through the My Awards page to book a free-night cert. Simply start the booking process as if requesting an award stay using points.
When I try to book a multiple-night award stay, why does the Hyatt website show availability for points redemptions but not for Free Night Awards?You will need to redeem the free-night certs one at a time in separate single-night reservations if you want to do it online. For example, if you want to book the Park Hyatt Sydney for December 14-16, you will book the night of the 14th to 15th as one stay, and then repeat the process for the night of the 15th to 16th. Otherwise, call Hyatt to make the booking.
If I can't use my free-night award by the expiration date, can I exchange it for points or get the expiration extended?According to the FT Hyatt GP Concierge, as of January 22, 2016, there are 2 options for compensation for the initial (all-category) Free Night Awards: These policies will reportedly remain in effect after the March 1, 2017 transition from Hyatt Gold Passport to the new World of Hyatt program.

Yeah i was just being floopy, I just assumed in my head for some reason. For awhile I thought the only way to get Platinum was to get 5 stays/15 Nights, and so automatically & therefore only need 20 more stays/35 more nights for Diamond. But forget you can get Platinum status by other means.

Question for the crew here. My s/o and I both got the card and the certificates to redeem at the Vendome. We both called in to book (2 nights each) and I've noticed something that struck me as odd. Both reservations show up as two separate (consecutive) one night awards consolidated into a single reservation. Additionally, both of our accounts show that 1 award night has been redeemed and 1 remains available.
Any idea what's going on here?

You do get special stay/night credits based on the amount of spend on the credit card. I think it was $20,000 spend a year that earns you a "bonus" of either 5 stays or 10 nights towards requalification.

$20K = 2 stays 5 nights. Another $20K ($40K total) = another 3 stays 5 nights. It's quite hefty and compared to the Hilton card requirements is quite poor.

I tried a call and a SM to get the credit. I finally told them to cancel the card. They then had someone call who asked for evidence of the booking/timing. I told them I didn't want to invest more time- they could credit me $100 or cancel it. I got the credit.

It may depend on the hotel. I recently emailed my hyatt hotel and told them I had an anniversary award to use but that I wanted to reserve the room for a friend of mine, instead of me. The hotel manager said to go ahead and book it and then he will simply change the name to my friend's name. I also had to fax in a credit card authorization form so they could place my card on file for any incidentals.

You should. I had trouble getting the $100 credit because either Hyatt or Chase didn't track the ad I clicked.

I'm currently in the last few days of a diamond status challenge(status matched my hilton gold) so I'd like to apply for this card before my challenge ends(I didn't hit the required number of nights). I saw some posts a few pages back about people getting a targeted e-mail with the 2 free nights offer and AF waived. I haven't got any such e-mail so is my best shot to sign up using the public link and then message Chase CS with a screenshot of the offer with no AF and hope they give it to me?
Secondly, once I get the two free suite nights my diamond status will no longer be any good. But since I plan on traveling with my fiancee can I have her get status matched maybe a month before we go on our trip and use her status somehow to get us diamond perks at hyatt. I used the diamond perks a few weeks ago on a 4 day stay and they were awesome. 4 free breakfasts a day, had all my friends eating breakfast buffets for free!
