stayed there 4 nights last year, my favor hotel in South Florida. It is located next to the Doral Golf Resort and looks a modern complex of apartment-style rentals. spacious bedroom, large living room with pull-out sofa bed, kitchen and a balcony overlooking the lovely Doral golf course.

We don't need the beach, so the inland location does not bother us....

Spent one nice at the Blue and ended up in a 3 bedroom unit but I don't know if it was a "villa" or not, it was on the ground floor, enter into a foyer w/a large bedroom/bath [2 queen beds] on the left, then turn to the left where there was a full kitchen, living [w/pull out sofa] and a door that opened into another area which led two two add'l bedrooms, including one upstairs.

The units are quite spacious and reasonably well maintained, except as noted below

The good:

Check in was easy, Diamond status recognized [hence the upgrade], unit available when we got there, ample parking, for Diamonds breakfast

The troublesome: our room had strange tiny little ants in the kitchen and one bathroom, we didn't see them until the am when we were leaving, also the lock on the sliding doors to the patio didn't work.

The bad: IMO, the location, but not because you are far away from the beach, I'm fine w/that, but rather there isn't anything out in the area except other time share communities and that bothered us.

I have plenty of photos from my three night stay there at the end of November but I can't for the life of me work out how to post pictures. (I'd be happy to email them to you if you PM me.)

I had a three bedroom, four bathroom, two storey villa in building nine, all for myself! The buildings are numbered one to, I think, 16, in ascending order from reception so my building nine was a solid four to five minutes walk at fast pace to the restaurant. The pool is nice; housekeeping was fine; Diamond amenity wasn't offered but I arrived late and I think I had a trainee (it was corrected the next day); tiny gym. There is a very large mall nearby (about $15-18 in taxi fares) that has heaps of restaurants, fashion outlets and a cinema.

I stayed at the Hyatt Miami at the Blue over Christmas. The villa was amazing and HUGE. We had a three bedroom four bath villa, which slept 6 of us perfectly. Two of the rooms had a king bed and the other room had two queens. There was also a pull out couch in the living area. The villa was modern with huge bathrooms/bedrooms, and an updated kitchen. The hotel is in doral so relatively far from the beaches, but right on a great golf course. We primarily stayed there because it was less expensive than 3 hotel rooms elsewhere and we were all able to hang out together. Definately need a car. As a diamond member was given breakfast for up to 8 guests each morning. Breakfast was okay, could order anything off the menu or go to the continental buffet. The hotel is new to the hyatt chain so many of the front guest attendents were not sure of the diamond benefits, but was able to speak to someone the following day after check-in to get the breakfast vouchers.

3 day stay.

Day One: depending on which way you come in, if you are unfamiliar with Doral, you think you are in a warehouse district. Gated entrance, very small lobby. Hmm....not impressed so far. But, check-in was quick, easy, and very friendly. Amenity list was offered and had some really nice "local cuisine" selections. (delivery is not till tomorrow, update on that later) As there is no RC, breakfast coupons were provided. Took a peek in the restauranr, small, but nice. Entry complex is very very contemporary.

We are in building 5- a good location IMO. Not too far to walk to the main building, but far enough away from the noise and bustle of check-in. There are 16 buildings over all - get much beyond 8 and you will have a solid walk to get to the restaurant or pool. Beyond 10 and your villa will back up to a busier road. We are on the 2nd floor, but there is an elevator. However, the villa is 2 levels, with rather steep stairs, so if that is a problem for anyone, be forewarned.

We are in a 3br, 4 bath villa - over 2500 sq feet. Not a typo, my first house was smaller. Absolutely gorgeous, but again, VERY contemporary. 1st floor is LR, kitchen, small dining table, also seating at a bar. Desk. MEGA tv, dvd player. Furnished balcony overlooking the golf course. There is also a full bath. Upstairs is the master, HUGE, with fab bath - sunken jetted tub, shower stall, etc. King of course, with furnished balcony overlooking the golf course. 2nd BR is also large, 2 queens, full bath, but no tub, also a balcony overlooking the course. 3rd
bedroom is the smallest, 1 queen, no balcony, and (very odd) no closet - but another full bath. All bedrooms have TV's. If you are traveling with a group of friends or large family, there is a lot of space and privacy. Funny though, some things are so contemporary it takes a few minutes to figure out how they work - there are still a couple lamps we can't get to turn on.

Day 2: Breakfast coupons only cover certain things on the menu - rather complicated, but basically cold buffet, or (off of menu) pancakes, a waffle, or egg breakfast. And a beverage. We sat out by the pool - which seems rather small for a resort of this size, but I think most people here are golfers. Pool does have some cabana's, a fountain, etc. Housekeeping did a good job. All personnel are friendly and accomodating. Service attitude is a big plus here - but service itself is a little spotty. It ranges from absolutely excellent to really nice person who doesn't have a clue. Amenity is a split positive/negative - the other couple loves wine, and says the bottle that was sent was excellent. The food part (skewed choc covered fruit) did no quite measure up. There is a fitness center, but it is tiny. As in the living room in the villa is bigger. Better plan to enjoy the outdoors!

Day 3: The restaurant was having a special dinner, and as we were here to celebrate a friends' retirement, decided to stay here and eat, rather than fight Valentine Day crowds elsewhere. We went down early in the day to select a table, pick the wine, arrange to have the dinner autobilled, order a special dessert, etc. The day hostess wrote everything down in the reservation book and assured us all would be taken care of. When we arrived at the restaurant, someone was sitting in our table, they did not have the dessert, the bill came to the table, etc. They did offer to seat us outside to make up for our lost table - but since the temp was about 45, we declined that offer. (how they thought that was better is beyond me) There was one (1) waitress for the entire restaurant, and it ended up being quite busy. Very very very disappointing. Having said that - the food was outstanding, and the waitress (who was running herself ragged) was quite pleasant, took excellent care of us - even taking the time to make us a cappucino with the foam in a heart shape! I hope management appreciates her, because she is truly an outstanding asset to this hotel.

Hyatt took this property over in April of 2010, and it has great potential. The service personnel are so pleasant, and really want your stay to be perfect...but there are some things that need work/training. There is a full kitchen - but no dishtowels, dishcloths, etc. The window treatments are stunning but one needs the strength of Atlas to open and close them. And why a bedroom would not have a closet I am still trying to figure out.

BUT - the villa is great, nothing was really horrible, all in all we had a good stay, and would certainly return. I would recommend the property, but just realize it may not be "perfect" stay. I did take some pics, so once I figure out how to post them will add to this review.

Kind of surprised that this property gets so little reviews...just had an excellent 1 night stay.

The rooms are very modern, very well done, and spacious. Very good Diamond recognition, despite full occupancy no problems with 4pm checkout, and when my flight was delayed this was even extended to 5:30 without charge. Much appreciated !

Restaurant food was OK but nothing spectacular.

Only downside is probably small fitness and mediocre pool area.

Would stay here again any time based on the great rooms and resonable rates. The location is convenient as well.

Just ended a one night stay.

It was supposed to be two nights but the hotel was just too weird.
They let me check out one night early.

The lobby is an after thought......no vibe at all.

The check-in was quick but the Continental Breakfast included in my corporate rate confused them.

It was sorted out the next morning. The breakfast all looked like it came from yesterdays 7-11 rejects.

The studio room was big but odd. Second floor but the golf course view was blocked by the trees.

Parking is a problem. Narrow street goes around the property and there is not enough parking for each building.

The pool.......jump in....jump out.....nothing you would want to hang around in.

The Direct-TV was fuzzy......something I am seeing in all my Hyatt stays recently.

BUT THE SHOWER WAS FANTASTIC ! GREAT SHOWERHEAD AND PRESSURE !!

If you go in thinking this is a Hyatt Place and not a Hyatt Hotel you might have a nice stay.

Great place for family trip!

I just did quick one night stay at the blue, was upgraded to 1 bedroom villa, asked for 3 bedroom villa but was told it was all booked. 1 bedroom villa had 2 full bathroom, two queen bed, and nice kitchen. I did have parking problem too, but i was able to find the parking spot on the building 9. Breakfast was great, I received 4 breakfast coupon when check in, you can order from the menu, or continental breakfast. My rate was $99 AAA rate!

Is it possible to use a diamond suite upgrade since all the rooms are jr suites? I was looking for something a bit larger since the kids are coming.

Note: no taxis hang around at the hotel. They have to be called. It can take a while to get a taxi arrive at the hotel. If time/timing is an issue, make sure you call and reserve a taxi in advance.
