Just converted to Hyatt from Marriot, which I have a cc through.. Hoping for something from Hyatt! Chase would be great, as I already have a UA & Marriott card with them!
Indeed. For the card announcement and for conclusion of the speculation about promotional activity beyond the new 10K offer. I've got stays planned this weekend!

Are you sure that in this case 'Chase would be great' ?
How many cards do they give you anyway when you already have some with them.

Seems pretty weak if you ask me. Other than getting 2 free nights, which would be great one time...where are the Diamond specific bennies? I mean, other than giving you Plat status, which is useless as Plat is very easy to get anyway...I get 3 ppd for Hyatt and 1 ppd for non Hyatt spend? Thats it? $75 a year for that? Or am I missing something?

Wow. So the only ongoing bennies appear to be Platinum membership and extra points for using the card at Hyatt properties. If you're going to be elite anyway, you're just getting the extra points. Not very exciting, though I can't say my SPG Amex is all that exciting either. No forex fee is nice, however.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong...3 ppd at Hyatt is pretty good when you consider that normal Hyatt earning is 5 ppd to 6.5 ppd for Diamond. However, all things considered, once I use up the 2 free nights, I do not see the card being worth $75 a year.
I called up the number on the site to see if there were any benefits for Diamond members and they said that the two free nights for signing up were in a suite for Diamond members vs. regular free nights for non-Diamond members. They said these would take 7 to 10 days to post to my account. This seemed to be the only Diamond only benefit.
However, they also said no foreign transaction fees for any level of member!!! Very nice!
It was posted on another thread that Diamonds would get two free suite nights on signup. That's certainly worth $75, but yeah, the ongoing bennies aren't all that.

The no Forex fees is nice, but there are free cards that do that and give great benefits as well. I would like to see it listed that the 2 nights are suites for Diamonds as well.
I also noticed it says "Award nights with no resort, internet or redemption fees"
I've never been charged a resort fee on a free night but I always thought this was at the discretion of the local hotel. Had Hyatt changed this previously to be the official policy or is this new?

Yeah I was very excited at the prospect of special benefits for Diamonds. Odd considering IHG just upped the value of their card a great deal with the free night annually, 10% refund on points spent, 5ppd at IHG instead of 3, no Forex, lifetime gold status as long as you have the card, etc...all at $49 a year. This is terrible past the initial great value of 2 nights, which we would all use at the PH Zurich or something, naturally. Very disappointing.
