I currently have Platinum at Hyatt, and numerous elite top tiers at other hotel programs. Can anyone advice me if the following might work?

I status match to Diamond now (Feb 10 - Feb 11), then enrol in this promotion, stay 15 nights and requalify for Diamond until Feb 12!

You don't need to status match. The offer is available to current GP members.

Yes, but the current offer only gives you Diamond until Feb 2011. My theory is that if I sign up for this offer as already Diamond, this offer will then renew my Diamond until 2012. Can anyone confirm that?

The current offer will get you Diamond until 2012 IF you score the 15 qualifying night in 2010.

Thank you for the promo

i rarely stay @ Hyatts, so only Gold, waiting for the trial platinum upgrade to post to my account (told it can take up to 48 hours?)

Q i have for the experts:

I need to book airport hotel that is currently 'sold out', which is why the platinum upgrade appears to be very helpful.

The gold reservationist said she could see that rooms are 'blocked out' for platinum members, but she can't see what type or rate until i actually book(ergo need for the number to post)

She did mention that the rate is set by the hotel, typically more than rack rate & no discounts would be allowed (AAA, sr, etc.). I've only used this option once with Loews' youfirst program & was able to book a AAA rate.

Is this standard practice w/Hyatt &, if so, how much over rack is typical?

You might have gotten a "traditional" Diamond trial, which is what I got when I called over the weekend. According to Hyatt, my Diamond status expires on 31 May. I have to stay 15 nights in 90 days.

This worked for me, because it includes Spring Break this week, including Palm Springs beginning tomorrow. But you should check.

According to the link below, which promted me to sign up, I have 180 days to reach 15 stays to retain Diamond thru Feb. 2011.
