I just found another one in New Orleans. It's the Intercontinental from July 7th until the 10th. $30 for 3 nights :-) It's a really nice hotel too. I'm going to give it to a friend. Too bad there is nothing for the 4th. I hear that New Orleans is a good place to be for the 4th of July.

HA! Thanks for putting it into perspective. Plan B is to camp out at MSY till check-in on the 12th. Slumming it at IC in a standard room for $10 would be a nice Plan C. (Plan A is to VDB on my way there and overnight elsewhere.)
Let me know if the 11th happens to be added. I'll appreciate it.

My $10 stay ($11.80 a-i) at Midtown Hotel in ATL went well. Fantastic location, and the expected slippage in standards from Wyndham level (as it's a former one that got cut loose) wasn't too bad. Would guess the TVs were a bone of contention, as the room still had the 24-inch boxes.
Too bad I couldn't do a trip to MSY.
I wonder what the real purpose of the promo is. *Maybe* they'd get a few people booking full-paid nights around the cheap ones, but I'm sure there's a high percentage booking cheap nights only.
My guess is they have a CEO taking heat for some metric like not enough homepageviews or eyeball traffic. This is certainly a way to artificially pump that up.
