Of course they can alter the T&C anytime (since this was stated within them). However, I find very questionable to void unused vouchers and exchange them for new ones. These vouchers were generated under the old T&C and it said they were valid until Dec 09.
Maybe we should demand them to refund the money they made from our referred friends' bookings.
I think more than that, they can make more business from those new members from this referral scheme. They can use their huge customers data base to negotiate more with their vendors and also advertisements on their website.
I can understand that they have the right to amend or cancel T&C. But that should apply for those new comers after they changed. It's totally unfair that they also apply this new T&C to those who received the old T&C vouchers.
Aren't there any consumer protection organizations to complain to??
If I get vouchers which have a minimum of 300 GBP, I am filing with the BBB.
I suggest that everyone do so!
Sure, they tech. have the right to change the terms. However, that was an extremely low way of going about it! We did not recieve any notice of any changes and had to try a voucher just to see what new crap Expedia had come up with!
We gave them a lot of new customers and got left standing in the rain!
Is there any way that we can get media attention on this??

I don't know if BBB is the right address (USA / CAN).
Does anybody know an organisation in the UK ?

Yes, put them to the media and they will be pressurised to attend to our complains

This is bull - I plan on posting a notice regarding their behavior on my website, and I urge everyone to FLOOD THEM with emails threatening legal action. I had over 200 GBP worth of free hotel rooms that were properly earned.
Others here have gotten them to apply the 40 GBP codes, but why not us?
Unequal treatment?

Although I see no chance to get "our money back", best thing in my mind would be trying to make this whole thing public.
f.e. writing to UK travel magazines, if THEY get tons of mails from expedia customers, maybe it's enough "food" for an article on Expedia UK ? (as long as Expedia isn't one of their advertising customers...)
In my opinion, doing nothing is definitely the wrong way !

Since I have not followed this thread for a while, I am surprised (plus very sad) to see the T&C got changed... Also, can someone please clarify for me whether the old voucher is still usable following the old T&C (no minimum) as of today? Have a couple saved for a forthcoming vacation...

Just read the last few posts - that's what everybody is talkin about!

Most of us saved the vouchers for future use.
When you book your forthcoming vacation make sure to do so through the hotel directly or from another online travel website (such as hotels.com or travelocity).

I remember that you used to have pull with Wyndham, so maybe you could your vouchers to work.
In reallity, is there any legal action that we can take?

In reality, they CAN do this legally. They covered their butts. But, it's a matter of how much they care about the negative PR versus customer satisfaction.
This is the perfect test of any company's mettle. Do they really care? We'll see.
I'd suggest "taking it to the streets". I had pull with Wyndham solely because they were afraid of my website. We need to make Expedia afraid of the negative PR they'd recieve for reneging on their commitments. I have a coupon code, with an attached terms and conditions, and I expect it to be fulfilled.
I wonder if Expedia has an Ombudsman we can work with. I'll look into this. Otherwise, in my searches, I read an article in a London newspaper about travel complaints (that's how I found Expedia's phone number). I'll see what I can find, and we'll flood his desk with emails - that'll get the media attention we need right now.
My family is out about $800 value between Expedia.co.uk and Expedia.Fr. All on legitimately earned referrals.
