LOL.

Greetings every1 from Yogyakarta, Indonesia! Great weather here this time of year (it's "winter.")

Would have to concur it was a great promo. Took tons of work for the work-arounds because of the multiple-GBP40 voucher redemption glitch, but sometimes quirks would giveth as well as take away (Ciao Italia!).

The combo of almost-free hotels and the Avis 5,000-DL-mile deal even incentivized a weekend car trip or two.

Thanks to all who participated! Even if it took an unusual amount of work, the money savings couldn't have arrived at a better time.

I wouldn't be entirely sure as I doubt Expedia has bothered to change the email for the two different groups of people (pre and post T&C changes) - assuming that the reminder sends out the identical code what was issued first time, then it should trigger a £40 voucher with no strings attached.

Used my last no strings attached £40 voucher today. Interestingly was able to use it on a Holiday Inn property even though I thought T&Cs state not valid at Intercontinental Group hotels

It is interesting that all the codes that are published in this thread can show a 20 pounds discount before you sign in Expedia, but as soon as you sign in, they will show "have been used". Really complex system.

I now have FIVE £40 vouchers...but I don't know my travel plans enough for the fall to be able to use them! Here's hoping they don't expire on me any time soon.

And no, I won't be providing them to anyone here unless I receive something in return - in which case, we can take the transaction to CC.

They expire end of Dec 09 (travel date can be up to Mar 10).

Where do I enter the codes again?

I went to use some of my 40GBP vouchers last night and again today, and I can't seem to find the spot where I enter the voucher code (I clicked all the way through the payment page).

I have entered voucher codes before on Expedia, so I know what I'm looking for... Is it possible one can't use vouchers for certain hotels? This hotel is a mom-n-pop hotel in Italy, not a big chain.

It's possible I'm just missing something - thanks for any direction/help you can provide!

the vouchers cannot be used at all hotels... if in doubt, just try to find one of the properties that you've used it before. The box should be right beneath the price

I heard it somewhere that the hotel must be on "Expedia special rate" in order to be voucher-eligible.

There was no such stipulation in the referral or reward coupons, but I have also noticed that the coupons do not appear to work in lower priced hotels. Seems to be a new modification - which sucks, since that seems to apply with older coupons (i.e. before the minimum spend rules were introduced).

Indeed, I am no longer able to use my old 40 £ voucher. It says only "voucher not valid"

I'm getting the not valid also!

However, when just doing a search I got two error messeges about Expedia.co.uk maintenance.

I am doubtful that they can just throw out all the old vouchers completely!

They reply:

"We are aware that there were some problems with the vouchers, in light of this all customers who have been unable to redeem there vouchers will be sent an email next week via email and at the latest you should receive this by Friday 7th August.."
