I just redeemed a £40 voucher issued before the rule change without any problems, so at least Expedia seems to have got that right, as others have found.

If you referred more than one friend, and got more than one voucher from one single email address: Are you now able to redeem them?

I did multiple referrals from one email address, and got several 40-pound vouchers back to that email address. I was able to use them all, but I used a separate email address for each 40-pound voucher, although they were sent to one email address.
We booked one on the 20th using the 20 but hubby is still yet to receive the 40 code yet. Has anyone else received a 40 code that was booked around then. How soon should we expect it.

Looks like the deal is dead to me with new minimum requirement.
However, I did not get good use of my GBP20 preiously when searching hotels I may use in US. (The difference is too minor for me to spend extra efforts on this) Too many promotion going on recently and hard to decide to go for which one.
I liked this promo! Yes, there were some glitches - a couple of referrals I sent never went through and at one point I was blocked from sending email and branded a "spammer" since I had to create new email accounts to redeem the 40s...oh, and the codes that would kick back as already redeemed even though they were new.... but minor annoyances compared to the value of the promo IMHO. And some of the glitches worked out in my favor As for using them again - I don't hold grudges when it comes to good deals - if they have the cheapest price I'll book it. I never had a problem with their bookings and every one I have done with this promo has worked out just fine, which is unusual (I miss the old days of Wyndham Rewards where you get a free room but then you have to beg or debate for it) I also like that they did not change the T&C's for the old vouchers.

Also booked on 19th and did not get my 40GBP voucher yet. Booked another room with 20GBP voucher on 17th(Fri) and received my 40GBP on Monday.
Just got my voucher for the Sunday booking. Interesting, all previous vouchers were sent out in the middle of the night two days after bookings. This is the first voucher that has arrived at the different timeframe.

Nice run. Big thank you to all the people who posted in this thread!
It was a nice run.
I didn't abuse the promo but I got some bonuses due to some friends wanting me to book their hotel, etc. Nice! They got the 20 pound (GBP) bonus (of course, with one friend & his son, I booked with whoever got them the best deal on their NYC trip--2 nights with 20 GBP expedia voucher/night and 1 night with "name your price" on priceline). I got 2 40 GBP vouchers from helping to plan their travel. I disclosed to my friend that I would be getting referral vouchers for booking their hotel and they liked that. Win-win for both parties.
Using the vouchers, we booked five 4* nights in Germany/Austria/Italy using the 40 GBP vouchers and one 2* night with a 20 GBP voucher. I put the 20 GBP voucher under my wife's name. Some had free breakfast and one had half board. Total cost for 6 nights was less than $300.
There were some bugs in their system. When I had to change billing to non UK address, the voucher said not valid. I just reentered the voucher #. Also, having to use different CC's/expedia signups for even the 40 GPB vouchers were annoying. Worth the trouble for 40 GBP each. I may not normally do future bookings (took some extra time with the promo), but if there is another nice incentive, I would not rule that out. In the end, I used "virtual" credit card # through Citibank as I was running out of credit cards to use. Learned something new about virtual CC #'s.
Bottom line: Nice run and a big thank you to everybody (especially Rusty C) for posting on this thread.

I just got a message asking me to send a reminder to my friends who did not make use of their £20 voucher so far - but it now indicates the new minimum spends. So, sending reminders is no way to get around the Achilles heel. So long, Expedia.
Yup, even better than last year's hotelclub promo.
Here's hoping for another hotel sign-up/referral deal in a few months (after I use my current rezzies). In the meantime, I hope priceline realizes I'm booking less with them and they send me a "welcome back" offer.
