This sucks!!!!!

I have tried using a 40 voucher on a 47 GBP hotel, and it still takes off the 40. Maybe they have not yet enforced the new rules or maybe you need to go to the payment page to be rejected.

Just used one 40 GBP voucher for a 46 GBP room 10 minutes ago.
I got this voucher yesterday.

It seems that old T&C for old vouchers.

Basically, this deal is dead. Only 10% discount now with the new T&C. You can find better deals elsewhere.

Now that's a bad (albeit not surprising) development.

I'd like to believe that the previously issued vouchers will retain the terms and conditions under which they were issued. But given the overall competency and care that Expedia has demonstrated, I consider that somewhat improbable. If that happens, I'm sure some here will complain (perhaps the ones who obtained such vouchers more "legitimately."

Meanwhile, let's try to keep the whining to a minimum here. These "too good to be true" travel deals always have a finite lifespan. Someone at the company inevitably figures out how many zillions of dollars the promo is costing and the rules are changed. That's why I always recommend booking quickly and planning ahead.

That's great news for those of us still holding unused 40 vouchers. Expedia actually did a "nuance" correctly! There's hope yet for that company.

That said, it's always possible that they simply haven't gotten around to "turning off" the old vouchers. If I had some definite travel plans to book, I'd do it ASAP. But if you don't, it's probably safe enough to hold them for when you need them.

Being as popular as I am, I of course referred lots of friends....
Anyway, an incoming 40 from yesterday worked just fine today, and one issued a couple weeks ago worked fine today also. FYI. But, I will get around to booking a few rooms I needed to book rather than waiting to see if things change.

How do you receive the new coupon? Promotion? This company will not cancel the invitation with the rules, right? Credibility?

I've got a couple trips coming up at the end of the year that I didn't book rooms for yet as I was waiting for plans to finalize.

If anyone has extra 20's with the old rules, and wants to see them used, I'd be happy to oblige. I can book today! PM me! Thanks.

Did anyone try if the "old rules" are still working with new vouchers?

Well, I'm disappointed at this development, to say the least. I had hoped that the email restrictions put in place would keep the deal going for a while yet - like until next week, when I was planning to reserve my next trip!!!

I don't even have any old 20 or 40 vouchers to try! For those who do, I'd suggest you use them immediately if not sooner. The best chance of them working without having the minimum value applied is almost certainly right now, and every hour you wait, probably just increases the chance those old vouchers will either get "turned off" or have the new TOS enforced.

I was saving them to book next week but I just used up the last of my 40 vouchers. It was a great deal while it lasted. Glad I kept on checking this thread or they would have become worthless.

I agree to use these ASAP. It'll be sad when/if the old ones are changed. But I assume it'll happen.

Can anyone confirm that they've successfully made new referrals yesterday or today? For the last three days my referrals have not produced emails to those referred. I also had someone here refer me yesterday and I have not gotten an email. I desperately need three codes for an upcoming trip.

I tried referring myself this AM, and never got it. Another guy referred me, and I got that one. Not sure what I did wrong, but there might be some flakiness here.

I agree with your view that it's improbable that previously issued vouchers will be distinguished from 'new' vouchers. Very high probability all vouchers will fall under the new T & C.
