I guess my big concern for stringing together several 1-night bookings at the same hotel would be some overly particular or paranoid back-office person thinking they had to call about it. We're always counseled here not to call, but it's hard to control others on that, especially if it's a back-office person we don't see.

Am not sure if it'd make a difference to just check the desk every day and say you've extended or not. It's ridiculous to even have to worry about all this when you're supposed to be able to get multiple GBP40 vouchers, but that's the mess this thing has become.

Thats my thinking. Even if the bookings don't get cancelled when I make them I am sure it will arouse suspicions if I hand in four seperate bookings upon arrival. On the other hand I don't want to have to keep checking in and out. Maybe I could say that several relatives each chose to treat me to a night of the trip as a gift

Why not just tell them the truth? I've done this many times and I always tell the front desk person exactly what I have done to save money (in these times). I've never had a major issue (the HotelClub.com $49-$60 credit from last summer through this winter being the promos I did, between my friends and myself, at least 100 times). Yes, it may be a pain to close out the folio and re-key each morning but you have to go an extra mile sometimes to get a great discount. That is what this thread and forum are all about.

Yeah, just apologize to the clerk and say you were using "travel credits" at Expedia but you had to book them in 1-night stays. I've done this occasionally on various 1-night promos, and I've yet to encounter an unhelpful hotel clerk. Most are happy to help. And remember, this promo isn't costing the hotels anything, so they have no incentive to give you a hard time (indeed, it's generating revenue for the hotels that they probably otherwise would not have).

Did you add the other traveller as an additional guest?

Yes, anyone with an Expedia account can book a room with anyone else as the actual guest.

I think that's where the problem happened for Dante and others that were cancelled.

The name of the Expedia account = The name of the credit card = The name of the staying guest.

So just in case, another person will be checking in, just add his/her name as an additional guest. In that case Expedia will see that all names match.

I wait 4 days but still havenot received voucher.

Actually I did receive 2pcs of 40-pound voucher two days after the reservation of my first referring friend, though I donot know why they sent me two vouchers.
Well, I couldnot resist from the "lure" and then referred two more "friends" and each booked a room with a voucher.
Then comes the problem, till now it has been four days, but no more voucher sent to me.

Anyone got through that?

I'm not too familiar with trashmail, but it sounds like a domain they might blacklist if it's a disposable e-mail service. If the problem is happening across all domains as you say, it could be another bout of technical problems like they had 3 weeks or so ago. For a couple of days nothing seemed to work and people were wondering if the promo had been pulled. They got it working again, but I don't think they fixed problems retroactively with people who didn't get vouchers but were showing as referred.

A couple weeks ago I was getting 2 40 GBP vouchers for each referral (nice, right?). I did one this week and got 1 voucher.

I recall a couple other comments about folks receiving 2 vouchers. Has anyone gotten lucky recently?

Changes in the T&C:

The 20 GBP vouchers now have a minimum booking value of 200 GBP.
The 40 GBP vouchers now have a minimum booking value of 300 GBP.

It would be interesting to know if this also applies to "old" vouchers or just the vouchers which are issued from now on...
