Can you provide some more details?

20 or 40 GBP? Did you use more than one 20 GBP vouchers with your name / address? Did you receive a reason about the cancellation?

Did some booking last week in hotels in Hongkong, shangai, pekin, bangkok whit the 20€ vouchers. Used different credit cards and different names (credit card names not matching the guest name).

This moorning all the bookings done with the 20€ vouchers (Hongkong, shangai, pekin, bangkok)

Get an email from expedia telling me to contact them via email and 3 minutes later a confirmation that the booking was cancelled.

Took 4 of the 40€ vouchers I won and made 4 booking for 2 double rooms in same hotel for 2 consecutive nights and different credit card numbers (credit card name matched guest name). Booking have been made using different names.

One of my friens got a call from Expedia last night.

This moorning all the bookings done with the 20€ vouchers (Hongkong, shangai, pekin, bangkok) and those done yesterday night were all cancelled expect one.

I can understand cancellations for referring oneself and creating multiple accounts for the GBP 20 vouchers...

However I hope there will be no cancellations for the GBP 40 ones because we have been made to create new accounts and use different credit card numbers because of Expedia's system constraints that don't allow multiple vouchers to be used on the same account although each member is allowed to earn and redeem up to 10 GBP 40 vouchers.

Just wondering... were your 40 euro ones cancelled?

A big Thank You goes to people like you who are ruining promotions like this time after time for those participating without intentions of fraud!

I also hope that no redemptions of 40GBP vouchers will be cancelled due to multiple accounts. If this were the case, I'd be even more upset about Proactive and Co.

I have a couple of stays coming up very soon. I sure hope it doesn't happen to me. Not that I mind paying more, but having to make last minute bookings during peak tourism season is not a good thing.

AFAIK Expedia.fr and Expedia.co.uk are run by the same management... but lets hope the cancellations are isolated incidents.

People out there better stop abusing the promotion... earn referrals through legit means and if Expedia cancels the vouchers we at least have a valid case to argue

Transatlantic coupons

Has anyone tried using a .co.uk or .fr coupon on the US .com parent site? The reason why I ask is because for stateside hotels, the .com site has lower rates than the .uk or .fr site (ignoring the exchange rate factor).

Can it be because of your unmatching names between credit card and reservation?

2 friends of mine used a room at Heathrow I booked with a £40 voucher with no problems last Friday. In fact, they got a great result. £55 room reduced to £15, and because the hotel had no twin rooms left they were given a room each for no extra charge!

I can't see how Expedia can go around cancelling reservations. As long as the card and booking name match, how can they tell the booking isn't genuine?

It's worth noting that 'initials only' seem to work with the credit card bit. So, if you are John Bloggs, refer a friend called James Bloggs (your 'brother'). Book a £20 free room for James and use one of your credit cards, putting 'J Bloggs' in the box where it asks for the name on the card. Should go through OK and there is nothing to flag even the slightest suspicion with Expedia.

How long does it take for the GBP40 credit to come through?

Late last night 'a friend' made a booking (a genuine one for a GBP50 hotel) using a GBP2o referral voucher. I have not yet got the GBP40 reward coupon, after 8 hours. For someone who has done a similar transaction recently, how long did it take for the coupon to appear in your e-mail?
