Yeah, surf's up. Get in those referral requests b4 their crack team of programmers brings things down again.
I tried re-referring someone who got snared in their technical problem (i.e. says they were referred, but they never got anything). Still no-go (duplicate entry message). If you were affected it's probably best to try an alternate e-mail now and figure it's not gonna get fixed. Besides, a voucher's a voucher.
Mail.com looks like a good place for new e-mails; the sign-up isn't nearly as bad as with something like yahoo and you can select from lots of different domains. They also don't have the aggressive deletions of other services like mailin8r.
Suppose the referee goes to expedia.co.uk, but not through the link in the referral email, but uses the code and the referee email address in the original email. Will this mean the referrer does not get a voucher? (Just curious why I haven't yet gotten one, although it has only been 4 days.)
I have experienced a problem using my second 40 euro voucher (from expedia.fr). After I entered the number of the voucher, the system showed that this voucher had already been utilised. Finally I tried the same voucher using another e-mail account (not the one that I used to refer my friends)and another credit card, and everything went fine....kind of weird..I got the feeling that expedia.fr system restricts one 40 E vouchers to one account/CC, which is not the way it is supposed to be.
Also, can anyone explain why the expedia.co.uk refer-a-friend page after enetering your e-mail account and password for refering a friend, turns into expedia.fr (and the result is that the voucher is in Euros, not Pounds)?!

This glitch has been well-documented, at least as pertaining to UK promo and site. No surprise that .fr site has same issues, but you summarized the work-around.

It appears the promos are using a single database. You can log onto a UK referring account from the .fr homepage, for example. My guess would be that if the e-mail was regged as a referral account (or received a voucher for a referral) on the .fr side then it'll always be linked only to that promo.
Just to update. Patience is required, as the 40-pound voucher for a booking made 3 days ago did show up, but not the one for a booking 5 days ago. So cross my fingers the other one shows up, plus the ones for bookings that were just recently made.

Quick update from Nagasaki, first of my stays went ok at Higashi Sunroute Shinjuku hotel in Tokyo.
I also booked a £0 booking for 2 days in Blackpool a few weeks ago and that was ok too
My next books are 2 nights for £0.04p a night at a 3* and a night in a Swissotel for £40'ish. Will report back how those go in just over a week. The Swissotel will be the interesting one....

Not sure why you're worried. We've had no reports of any problems. Once your purchase is confirmed, it's just like any other Expedia booking. I've already used a few nights without incident.
Polish Hotel Group Orbis (essentially Accor franchise operator in Poland) is running some really great sale this weekend (check at www.orbis.pl) with their Ibis and Orbis Hotels going for 100 zl (Novotel/Mercure for 150), that is less than 20/30 GBP respectively. As these hotels are also bookable on expedia.co.uk you can get them essentially for free with the 20GBP initial discount. If you are lucky you may even get some extra airline miles from them. I`ve just stayed at two Orbis properties and liked both of them.Even if you will have to change your plans, you would still get 40GBP voucher for future use.

Definitely a great deal, thanks.
If you pick a Polish hotel for less than 20GPB, it seems like you still have to pay the tax/fees (Expedia won't give you these for free). I've seen some on this deal where the fees are about 1 GBP. I presume others have booked similar deals (Vegas midweek?) not intending to actually use the rez. Has there been any problem getting your 40GBP voucher from such rezzies?

WillTravel - Did you ever book using the my referral code? Just curious....haven't receive a 40 for it yet.
I am trying to book Ibis hotel but it does not give me the option to enter the voucher code. Please advise. Thanks

Yes, you are right. It seems that Ibis hotels (at least in Poland) do not have "expedia special rates", so you can not redeem vouchers on them. But proper Orbis Hotels (i.e. hotels with the name "Orbis") are anyway better than Ibis and they are marketed just below Novotel. Plus, you can find them in all Polish cities where Ibis is present and far beyond. The only exception is Warsaw, where you still can go for Novotel (I would recommend Centrum) or Mercure for less than 10 pounds.
