Yes, I've always received the voucher w/in a day or two. Did he make sure to use the same e-mail address to register on Expedia.co.uk? That's how the vouchers are triggered.
Just checked. He used a different e-mail address. Oh well...
the pounds stronger so thatll get you a larger bargain but its still worth it.
Something that has rarely been mentioned is entropay, which allows you to transfer funds from any debit or credit card into a virtual card. Minimum is £10 and they charge a 4.95% fee thats it. The currency can be made in Euro, £s or $s.
If your hotel is say £10.98, you create a virtual card with this same ammount, theyll charge you 4.95% = 0.54pence. No end to how many you can create.
I think it's not dead but just a technical issue which hasn't been solved on the weekend. If it's "dead" they wouldn't advertise the promotion any longer.

Of course, an Expedia "technical issue" could last forever, too. Amazing you can run your business that way and STAY in business.

Wow, I go away for a few days and the place falls apart...
I can confirm the bookings made with the vouchers work! No unexpected hassles with the prepaid bookings. Good 2 know, at least.
Haven't tried any referrals since the latest reported issues, but my first thoughts are either: a) technical issue, or b) they're trying to use IP addresses to restrict the promo.

can anyone please confirm whether it is the IP thing? I only have one computer, and naturally one IP, so there is no way I can test b). Also, I still need spare 20 GBP vouchers, not 40 GBP ones.

My ISP dynamically assigns IPs for DSL, though they do have a fixed-IP option that users can request. What I meant in the earlier comment was trying to use IPs to geographically restrict it, perhaps by logging where an account was registered from and disabling functions if it's a known IP from a particular country. (PayPal used to lock accounts immediately if they were logged onto from certain countries, so I'm thinking something along those lines).
Would be useful to hear if anyone with a referring account who is physically located in the UK is having any of these issues.
