I don't think that a definitive answer about this exists. One agent told me that such a reservation would NOT be honored, and two others have told me that my December reservation WILL be honored. I reserved this one during the first weekend of the promotion for substantial savings off the normal rates.

(2) For other hotels, should I book one night at a time as my dates come up or should I wait until I can book the entire reservation at once? I'm concerned that availability will disappear in August unless I act quickly.
That's up to you. We can't be of much help in answering this -- especially without knowing the property in question. Better safe than sorry, though, IMO.

It looks to me as if the booking window opens as soon as the day of arrival is within the ninety day window. So it does not matter if you are booking a one-night stay or a fifteen-night stay; in either case you can book ninety days before arrival or less.

Dubai

I just completed a 2 day stay at the Fairmont Dubai, and it could not have gone better. The hotel is great and the service was fantastic. Thanks to the OP!

For simplicitys sake, just make the reservation for the whole stay at once. If your really worried about it filling then make it for the first night and call in to reservations to extend the existing reservation. Making seperate reservations for every single night is going be confusing for all sides. Once the reservation is made with the booker ID and code, it will be less confusing for everyone if one confirmation is kept.

Red face NFAF

Thanks to nyt2t - we just check out of the Fairmont in Singapore at an amazing rate of S$139 and was even upgraded to their signature room with the President Club. No big deal on not earning miles as saving money for the company takes precedence. Everyone was impressed. No questions asked!!! by the check in staff about booker id code. Will continue to support Fairmont.

Glad to hear it all went well! Seems like a lot of people are getting these upgrades with this promo too!

I read earlier in this thread that 'airmiles' do not accrue for stays on the NFAF rate.

Does this mean that there is no point attaching an AAdvantage number or similar to bookings on this rate? Does anyone have any recent experience on this?

The Fairmont booking system describes the rate as;
'Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Friends and Family Not eligible for Frequent Flyer point' - that seems pretty clear to me.

Even though the rate doesnt qualify it doesnt hurt to attach it. Theres always the slight chance it will sneak by. Just dont call in and complain when you dont get the points.

Plus when you attach your presidents club profile, your points number is automatcally attached anyways.

have fun!

Thanks nyt2t.....Fairmont gains new revenue as I'm shifting stays to them given the more reasonable rates.

I doubt it, but Edmonton is right, never hurts to try. You could get lucky and get the points anyway.

Glad to hear I can help you AND Fairmont with this... not to mention the small referral incentive for myself.

I've used this rate 3-4 times already and have never recieved any airline points. At least it counts towards PClub which is another good note, even though the program could be alot better and get more ppl to use Fairmont more often.

Works at Fairmont Queen E - Montreal

$1xx/night.

Thanks nyx.t2t!!!

Ironically, I'm there for work at the end of June; paying $30 more (required corporate rate for work).

(Removing the rate as requested; I'm saving $$$, so compliance is the least I can do.)
