A few other Fairmont employees have posted on the thread on RFD.com and confirmed that Fairmont sent this email to all employees yesterday. According to the thread, the employees get $10 per booking from this, as well as an entry for free flights (unsure of details).

Since this IS an employee discount (that Fairmont is offering to the general public), I assume that a Booking ID of an employee is required. I have seen people say that the Booking ID is not required, but I would rather have it there than not. Plus the employee gets a reward. (Please note, I have no affiliation with the poster of this, besides being pumped about some super cheap rates!)

I PM'd her and she said no ID is required, and anyone can use this.

If I track down the official Fairmont letter, I will let you know.
Sounds good, thanks for the explanation !

My issue is not that the employee gets a reward, I more than once experiences that said "promotions" are fraudulent and I would hate showing up in Singapore and being unpleasantly surprised.

However as of now I'm booked for:

Fairmont YVR Waterfront
Fairmont YVR - Junior Suite
Fairmont Singapore

Contemplating about

Fairmont Acapulco
Fairmont Cairo
Fairmont Hawaii

Also good at Raffles Resorts! (Too bad the Raffles hotel in Paris is not open right now.)

Raffles Canouan, The Grenadines (110 miles from Barbados)
I picked a few different dates which all came back offering RACK rates starting from $495 or $850. Then when I put in the promo code, the rates are $250. (No ocean view rooms are offered when the promo code is in.)

Fairmont Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, Mexico. $119

I work with Fairmont hotels and can confirm this is a legit deal. I heard that Fairmont is offering this because of the low occupancy numbers at their hotels because of the bad economy. The rates are pretty crazy... not too far off the rates we get as employees there.

The person who posted this deal does get $10 for each booking that they get with their booker code and are entered into a company-wide draw for prizes. I don't think you have to worry about anything other than your own ID when checking in.

So for the Fairmont Princess Acapulco & Fairmont Maui !
Don't some hotels require a deposit on reservations?

Not at all. My confirmation email states: "Deposit Policy: A deposit is not mandatory".

It depends on the hotel. All reservations state the cancellation and deposit policy in step 3.

Maybe we can get the Savoy, if it re-opens before Dec. 31!
