It appears the resort fee is now also mandatory at the Venetian, has anyone recently tried declining upon check-in/check-out?

it's not mandatory there?

haven't read thru whole thread but noticed somebody recently mentioned their lmtclub booking didn't have a resort fee @ checkin? is this standard in vegas?

fyi, if anybody has cruised w/Royal Caribbean cruise line you might want to check your past guest account on their website. they have a promo w/Mlife with some pretty good deals factoring in varying resort credit by property thru the end of August but you have to book by the end of April. The rates are fully cancellable.

We're in grand room @ MGM for a weeknight and weekend with a $150 credit off $300 total = $150 including all taxes & fees (less than Monte Carlo or NYNY...Luxor & Excalibur are a few bucks less). The Bellagio clocked in around $200 after the credit.

I still think we'll wind up doing better as the date gets closer but always good to have a backup plan.

Hey I can't seem to find the MLife promo on the Royal Caribbean website... there's a page showing the cruise deals for MLife members, but I don't see anything about MGM deals for Royal Caribbean members. Do you have a link?

Great deals, I´m interested to stay in The Signature, 3 nts/365 USD total.

Can you use the resort credit to pay the resort fee?

"The Resort Credit is valid at participating Food & Beverage and Spa outlets only does not include gratuity. "

Unfortunately not! The resort fee is generally charged so the hotel can include such things as the use of their pool facility, internet access on site, basic amenities inside the room, access to the spa/gym, etc.

The resort credit however is just their way of giving you 'free' or otherwise inclusive credit towards food & drink whilst staying at the hotel. In other words, it costs them nothing to give you say $100 in resort credit as they know it means a couple of meals at the buffet and they often comp that to repeat visitors anyway.

While my Encore booking with lmtclub didn't have a specified resort fee I doubt I'd get away form it at check-in.

Too bad, but I´ll book anyway.

The offer is too good to be true.

They had 2 deals last year, 1 with and 1 without membership requirement. Did you book the one with membership requirement? I imagine they wouldn't check but just in case cause I want to book a few dates myself =).

where did u use it and for any particular restaurants? akin to pulling teeth to try & find out which dining venues are excluded. The agents I spoke to were only able to offer than 'non-owned' venues were excluded from the dining credit, thus far I have confirmation that the new double down place @ Monte Carlo and starbucks is excluded.

supposedly, at check in they will provide a list where it 'isn't accepted.

it's been suggested to me that credit is always good for the hotel buffet & poolside for booze & food and that it's easy enough to check ur in-house bill the day after you dine somewhere to see if it has been charged or processed via a credit.

It was the deal that 'required' membership. Read the terms. Considered contacting RC but I cruised with them 4 years ago and booked thru a discounter. Could not just log in to their site. So I said heck with it and never got the # and nobody asked. Stayed at NYNY, MB, MGM and MC. I can't tell you exactly where I used it. I go there 3 or 4 times a year and the trips start to run together. Probably hit every casino bar in each place. Buffets, bunch a random restaurants. I would just charge to my room. Did not encounter any problems.

Between the people I know who used it and accounts on forums I think I've heard of one person who claimed they were asked. YMMV.
