would not surprise me a bit, especially the "secret" access messages about the game being over
and all the smiles and warm and fuzzy feelings that it being so "fascinating" \
truly, i find that more offensive than anything
i am not particularly fascinated with being manipulated like this. trust me. this is not sitting well
Yup...this is totally ridiculous. I'm off to bed. The $1 is off link seems legit to me...it links right back to their website but you can't find it from the home page which is weird. Who really knows? I do know it didn't happen today (thankfully I was away for almost 12 hrs with no chance of being at a computer) and I doubt its going to. I'm feeling terribly sorry for everyone who has wasted their entire day and then just gets crapped on...
Guys the 1$ is off link is just a redirector link that they use when the timer hits 0 when running the promotion. In theory that link should ALWAYS be active on the site but have nothing pointing to it until the promo runs. It appears very sporadic that the clock has "run" tonight. Lots of conflicting reports on SD.

When I told my 90 year father-in-law about his he said "If it is too good to be true..." I guess he was right. In a period of economic decline like the one we are in and that I believe is only going to get worse, LMT had an opportunity to maybe snag some good customers. In the very near future, they will be competing for those customers with the very hotels they were offering in this bogus promotion. I for one will never ever book a room with them, even if they offer it to me for free with a reach around. I am in total disgust, but am not surprised. Snakeoil is snakeoil!!!!
I have been rooting for you all week. I am sorry that it didn't work out. Usually I would say there is always tomorrow, but seriously can we trust these people?
I've been "ROTFLMAO" for a week,
but don't feel entitled.
please, don't quote me out of context again.
the link given for which i posted that (portion) message implied the promotion was over.
again, for us schmucks who have not had the "privilege" of getting so far as to see that logo/message and know that it only refers to the "daily" campaign, i am not ALONE in thinking that message meant "GAME OVER"...which, then, YES, i think, indeed we ALL would be entitled to information that says so.
get it?
i have been told that i have a pretty decent sense of humor. so, if anything i posted gave you any ROTFLMAO relief in all of this mess, i suppose you're welcome. perhaps some sensitivity could come likewise in my direction, and for others who also may not feel the same as you?
right now, i am not feeling too funny. spent 22 hours, again, nonstop at a screen and apparently gave up my "legitimate" searching, ya know...where ya actually manually do the entering on the computer screen to keep the site active... (ie not using refreshers, like some folk) just about 15 minutes before they posted the (pacific coast) timer!
so, forgive me if i am not particularly happy or cheery or fascinated. maybe i will regain my sense of humor. but, right now, i don't see it.

how kind of you to say that
i can't tell you how nice it is to read those words from others. i am, again, so defeated and the reason it is so difficult is that i keep playing by the rules.
i am giving up (as are so many) time...life...etc., in the assumption that the rules will be followed. i just lose my faith in fairplay, and that is such a crappy way to feel. and the more i loose it the more determined i am to beat LMT at their own game. i have been determined, but still not successful.
i SO get that it is a "sweepstakes" a "contest", but if the only REAL thing standing in the way of you "winning" is time, and your devotion of it, and your adherence to the rules, then, i'm sorry...i just could not feel worse. i took the weekend to re-group and regain perspective and was successful. even wrote a little story about the whole thing to give myself (and hopefully others) a little good defeats "evil" message.
but, i know it is late, and i go on and you probably need rest as badly as i do.
i just feel so bad, that's all. i said it before, 100% devotion of time, preparation of what to book, and playing by the rules are all you SHOULD need to get this. i keep doing all of that. so, WHAT am i doing wrong????
They now are doing a token type system, in which they let the first x amount of people in to the system to watch the video, where the others see the normal screen. Therefore, some will see the video, and some won't, and it's purely based on your browser session and the response from the web query. Chat windows are now ineffective.
I can't vouch for whether that's an accurate assessment, but it seems plausible.

I have read the same elsewhere. Now I know why I work to keep status with SPG and Hilton. If I wanted hassles I would be a parking cop.
In between refreshes earlier today,
I had raed some references to "Janice and Kevin"
having a Facebook site with many
possible clue-containing photos and video.
Appareently today was not a total loss,
as I gained a friend.
I just received an automated email:
I have decided to attack this differently. I will be contacting all the hotel chains that do business with Last Minute Travel/easyclicktravel and inform them of their affiliation with a shady company. I also will pull out of any rewards programs and book with hotels that do not do business with LMT. I think if done in mass, this could be exceptionally damaging to LMT. Sure a free hotel stay is nice, but at what cost? The fact is that I have a stable job, I have money so I don't need this hassle of this promotion. I am out. But what disturbs me the most is the fact that of the 2500 rooms allotted for the first week, only about 37% of the possible reservations were booked. I am sticking to companies I can trust. BTW, are these guys run by Bernie Madoff?
