That boat clue was there a week or so before the 15-minute periods started. It was the one clue that actually came true. It meant that one of the sessions on 1/27 would be in the AM EST, and it did happen around 11am on the 27th.
Any lawyers here that want to chime in, unofficially of course, on whether changing the terms this many times after the start of a promotion is legal?
I'm guessing yes unless you were damaged by it?

I got that as well. These scumbags are trying to find ways to screw with us instead of running the promotion. They change their T&C which has to be in some sort of violation with something. Also, if they really want to get nitpickey, how about the fact that in the first video, Kevin clearly states twice that "Everyday for 15 minutes, I can book a hotel room for a dollar." They deserve to get sued. I am interested to see who starts the class action lawsuit.
They changed the T&C's from last week so at least we know it's definitely E.S.T, which means they did NOTHING for Monday. Apparently it's true they will not honor the promo as advertised with the 15 minutes per day anymore. Sad, very sad. Hope they enjoyed what little business they had before this.
What an interesting (and annoying, from my perspective) game of cat and mouse.
What I don't get is that they seemed to be prepared to give away up to 500 bookings per day. But maybe they weren't Maybe some bean counter somewhere said "no way you'll get anywhere near that. We'll only need to pay out XXX dollars." Now they've realized their mistake and are backpedaling.
Ok, that's one story. But how could they underestimate us by so much?
And don't they know that being slimy is merely going to give them a bad rep?
when you purchase a ticket for a raffle you trade (usually) $$ in exchange for the "chance"
in this case, the exchange was in terms of "opportunity" and meeting that opportunity "by chance" within the parameters they defined.
as their definitions have changed, it seems to me they are liable
however, the biggest loophole in the whole thing is the T&C that states they may withdraw the campaign at any time. if that is the case, i would strongly believe that they have a legal obligation to notify the public in a timely mannner
my many many many hours in front of this screen for nothing is worth quite a bit to me. i could have bought a lot of raffle tickets with the value of that time, and been assured a chance of winning. the fact that none of us have been given the chance, is also the problem.
class action really does come to mind. normally, i try to find the humor in things, but my back hurts, my arms are killing me from typing and i am again sleep-starved.
i deserve to know why this happened to me. i would never choose this if there were no CHANCE of "winning". that's like saying give me $100 and IF i decide to hold a raffle you might win something.

i am AMAZED that they would draw attention to this...if they were smart, they would have just manipulated everone's software use, but not admitted they were doing so. THEIR OWN CAMPAIGN has kevin utilizing "refresher software" while he sleeps, and the dog "using" it and autofil features (hits the keyboard once with his paw) in order to get his booking. in fact, that was the only way kevin was successful at getting a booking, and then they show him in paris.
boy, this class action thing keeps getting more and more intersting...
