"The company tells us that, as of yesterday, 624 bookings have been successful for the first three days of the sale. The average vacation prize was 5 nights long and valued at about $2,000, with a cost of $1. Most of the prizes were "luxury properties" in popular destinations like New York city, Orlando, Paris, and the Bahamas."
I got a response to my complaint regarding time periods:
Dear Lorna,
Thank you for your e-mail. In regards to the guest of the 15 minutes, the sale occurs each weekday for a total of 15 minutes, with specific start times varying from day to day. The 15 minutes can be divided into 3 or less sessions per day – never being less than 5 minutes each. It takes about 3 minutes to complete a reservation. Our intention is to introduce you to our web site, our products and rates – so if you prepare in advance you can easily complete a booking within the sale session.
LOL! Never less than 5 minutes... 3 min to complete a rez... Ha!
I wonder if the videos and stupid survey are included in the three minutes. Also, I wonder if they tested this on themselves with prior knowledge of the format.

I asked those questions in response, but haven't heard back from them yet.

i actually have to side with lmtt on that one. when i did my reservation, there was 3:14 seconds on the clock. i don't have any pre-loading pages or anything, just my cc# ready to paste into its slot. there was 19 seconds left on the clock. it can be done in less than 3 minutes quite easily.
you can't sit around and go browsing multiple hotels though. 1 or 2 looks only. people are making this whole process out to be so much more difficult than it is. i personally know 3 other people who got theirs on their first effort, and one that took 2 tries b/c they had no hotels at her first chocie. and yes, that includes 2 videos and 2 survey questions. the vids are less that 40 seconds.
...but it may be that the 1 or 2 comp stays they had at the swanky places were booked the first day already....
I feel quite certain that this was not the reason. There are plenty more than 112 or even 624 high end hotels that were pulled from the selection. LMT offered all hotels and rooms on their first day and intentionally removed many of them for the additional days. I suspect that they would argue that by offering them once, they've satisfied their promise. Others may disagree.
The rep quoted from the Facebook link is their Director of Marketing.

The sad thing is that I would have fully complied in a survey and even a questionaire about the site and its promotions AFTER I secured a successful reservation. I would extend this with an easy request. Why they had to do it during the booking is absolutely ridiculous to me.

what is so dang hard about these surveys? they're 2 blessed questions that you just have to click one button in each question to finish. it's not an essay exam. what could it possibly take to do those? 2.5 seconds? seriously. this is not rocket science.
