There's also that scene in the internet cafe where there are two numbers displayed behind them when they sit down -- 21 and 13... maybe it's at 21:13 EST? so 9:13 pm?
I think someone astutely noted previously that the monastery in the video is Beit Gemal in Israel. It clearly says "BEITGEMAL" above the door in one frame. My thinking is that the bell was rung 9 times, indicating 9 o'clock and the monks are getting out of bed, which would suggest 9 AM, but 9 AM Israel time is 2 AM EST, which wouldn't work. Could it be 9 PM Israel time, hence 2 PM EST? Who's to say the video necessarily corresponds to today, anyway? Have the prior videos been accurate?
Clues:
Episode 2 - GR201 on the sweatshirt. I interpret this as 201 AM Greece Time. This is approximately 701 PM Eastern.
Episode 4 - The 9AM bells ring at the Beitgemal monastary in Israel. Also if you read the LMT comments at youtube for this episode, you'll learn that episode 3 occurs in Milan (although putting $1 into the machine makes no sense if this were the case).
First and foremost, thank you to all of you who have provided such great information. This promotion has been fun, yet annoying at the same time. I'm sure many of you know how frustrating it is that they keep changing the T&C and they give out different answers to the question as to how many time you can book.
Here are the answers I've received from them, which I hope should help.
The sale occurs each weekday for a total of 15 minutes, with specific
start times varying from day to day. The 15 minutes can be divided
into3 or less sessions per day - never being less than 5 minutes each. It
takes about 3 minutes to complete a reservation. Our intention is to
introduce you to our web site, our products and rates - so if you
prepare in advance you can easily complete a booking within the sale
session. Regarding when the 15-minute intervals will actually occur, that's the catch! You won't know exactly when the sale will happen each weekday,
but you are encouraged to visit www.lastminutetravel.com/worldforadollar
to learn more and sign up to receive hints!
Also you can only book one room per e-mail.
I wrote them back asking to clarify exactly what they meant by one room per email. This is the response I received:
Dear valued client,
It must a different credit card, computer, internet source, name on
booking and etc. If the system recognizes any similarities, the
reservation will then be cancelled.
If you have any further questions, please let us know
I hope this helps some of you out there. I frankly think that the hints have been a joke. None of them seem to correspond with the videos or anything else. They now mention that in addition to receiving email hints (Which it seems no one has) you can also sign up for Facebook alerts. I have yet to receive those as well.
While I think this is a great promotion and that it is great that we are getting free hotels rooms, they should be a little bit more organized and not give us faulty information.
i think LMT would have a pretty tough time enforcing their "can't use auto-refresh features, etc." rule...
remember the last episode where the dog makes the booking?
the LMT automatically "pops up" at 602am. not possible, as this website only times out after no activity. only way that could happen is if the guy had the page/site set to refresh automatically (ie C4C)
i know it is all ridiculous to begin with, but, even still...
