". . . each participant is likely to encounter the event at a different time"
I am wondering, therefore, if a would-be contestant could sit at the screen around the clock, constantly signing in and out, and having someone else watch the screen when the would-be contestant had to leave the room for a few minutes, so that the time was covered in case the video was started--and even then not have one's IP address chosen that day?
How can LMT provide the chance at least once every 24-hour period, to every IP?
This afternoon I read what was suppossedly a response someone got out of one of the executives of LMT's parent company over at SD. It said something to the effect that each user has the potential to get 15 minutes, and that the clock can apparently start ticking away even without you noticing....
On the other hand who really knows whats going on...so many conflicting reports and not even all the CSRs say the same things....

I think its safe to say this promo pretty much backfired. I don't think anyone will want to do business with LMT after this promo. Changing the way the contest is held and changing the ToC is not the way to build a customer base!!
I ended up booking 4 nights at the Conrad in Singapore (thanks to FT) but I also wasted 6+ hours at my laptop on Monday only to find out LMT changed the way the contest ran. (Like most FTers) I will prob never go to their website again
after you logged in did it give you another video loop
how many videos altogether did you have to watch
thanks so much
Ellenface: I logged in after finding the $1 hotel. Then through the sign in and info process, saw two videos. The approx 6 minutes I had were ample - I finished with almost a minute to spare.
I have been on this promo since Thursday, and spent more than 30 hours on Monday-Tuesday. The video FINALLY played, but no booking.
I switched to IE from FF last night, clear cookies every now and then, try the alternate between cities method, and the video finally played!
When the vid stopped, it said I had 2:50 minutes left. I logged in, and the vid started again! So after the 2nd vid, I only had 1 minute to spare. Once I had CC info and everything typed in, they ask "how much do you book your travel online, on which site?" kind of questions popped up TWICE. Then I ran out of time.
Do you guys think there is a chance it will play for me again?
Also, is it better if I already logged in?
Thanks and Good luck to you all still trying to get a room.

good luck to you to
no clue on if you have a chance. i have been at this for 2 weeks and have never had a legitimate chance
what time was it central us time when this came up for you?
and, were you logged on to flyertalk when you did this and got the video
I got the video at about 530am est. I had a little over minute after the bid was played. After selecting the hotel and entering traveler information, it asked me to log in. To make a long story short, I was never able to leave the log in page. It didn't let me log in. Everytime I tried, it just refreshed to the same log in page.
I think safari has some issues with their code. IE isn't a viable option on a mac, and I haven't heard any positive reports from those using FF.
