I had a little less than 5 mins. I wish you good luck. I've seen you on this thread since the beginning.

I agree that it seems like there are random times available. Although there may be some BSers on SD or other sites, I don't think people that have lots of FT posts are likely to be making this stuff up. I was glad to get through at all, just to get a feel for what the process/video/timer actually looks like. I think I'm better prepared now if I get a chance later today or in the next couple of days.

Ellen, I was logged into FT but not into my LMT account when I got the timer, if that helps. Also, I did note that the search I did immediately prior to the clock coming on showed 26 5* hotels in Prague during my dates, but the post-video search only had one hotel listed. Still, I would have grabbed it if I'd had time!!

Here's my MO -

Since I know my dates are firm but am flexible about where to go, I've been putting in Paris with the dates and star ratings, hitting search, and after getting the regular rates, hitting the red hotel icon up top, then changing the city to Prague, hitting search, and starting over, back and forth, between the two cities. That way I am assured a new search each time.

The one time the timer came up I had been away from my desk for a couple of minutes, so my first search was for Prague. I could tell right away that something was different, although in my excitement I admit that I can't tell you exactly what it looked like. Then the video popped up and when it was over, my Prague search page was there, with only one 5* choice and 1:30ish left on the timer. I immediately picked book it - since it was the only choice - and tried to log in. I think in my haste I mistyped the squiggly letters in the verification box, and it asked me to try again. Unfortunately, when I redid the letters, I neglected to once again put in my personal password, so it booted me out a second time. Nerves!!! By the time I got further in, the time was up.

As I said earler, logged in to FT, not to LMT.

I deleted my cookies and temp internet files before starting this morning. I used internet exployer rather than Firefox. I alternated between using the red hotel button and the Modify your search link under speed book. I don't recall which i hit when the clock came up. I was searching various dates/cities, not the same stuff over and over. I don't know if that matters.

I did more or less the same for 6 hours or so. Then a video started playing and I knew I had to go get my wife´s cc. I had like 6,5 minutes, so no rush. I booked a hotel and carefully selected the one I was hoping for. All the options were there as I only looked for 4 nights. That kept the total under 1000 USD. Last time I tried I had fewer choices with 7 nights. Try keeping it under 1000 USD if you´re looking for a specific hotel.

I feel bad to get it both myself and wife, while others have tried and haven´t gotten anything.

thanks for the tip. been adjusting my list according to this $1000 idea

by what many have posted, you are not alone in getting more than one and some others, including me, none. i live in the u.s., citizen, too, which just makes the pill harder to swallow.

but, thems the breaks. life aint fair, huh?

you'll have a good time, im sure you will forget about this whole mess when you go. the memory of the sad posts from us unlucky ones will fade in time.

I have essentially been doing it how everyone else is trying...alternating between paris and london or clicking through to all the other sections on the web site. I did get a chance on Tuesday but my time ran out, so I am still trying to get lucky again and get that video to play again!

I have put way too much time into this already for me not to get a hotel room...

I wish! I was really close to getting it but trying to book a room during a lecture on my tablet which had decided to be redicuously slow pretty much blocked me out from completing the final step in time. This is what makes it so much more painful, but at the same time it is keeping me determined to keep on trying!

Also appears that this is my 500th post!

Anyone know if there have been any reports of people getting lucky and getting successful bookings within the last few hours?
