I am sorry to those who has less than 3 posts that I didn't respond to your email. I don't know if you were the same person who signed up three or fourth times just so you can get more than one freebie.
Again, this is NOT a trade or Exchange. I don't accept anything in return, I just want to give them away before they expire.
Pay it forward.
Giveaways still belong in Coupon Connection, IMO - that's the area of FT devoted to trading or paying it forward. There may be people on there who have missed out on the chance and nabbing one because of the offer being in this forum.

At this point, this thread has run its course. There are no more new deals and the cancellation fiasco has seemingly come to an end. The thread also seems to divide the community into several different sects, none of which are willing to get along.
This thread will be closed until such time passes that real news, such as a new promo that all can benefit from and take part in is announced.
Thank you,

Hi, I was hoping maybe someone could help me with something.
Has anyone had any experience with canceling or amending a hotel club reservation??
I'm asking on behalf of my parents. They had a trip planned but my father has to have open heart surgery. They are not going to be taking the trip.
The room is paid for, part on credit card, part $50 from the $50 promo.
My 1st question is, do they need to bother to cancel the room? Can hotel club charge them anymore than what they already paid? Can hotel club charge them for the $50 coupon??? It's $15 to cancel so that's why I ask.
Alternatively, I see an option to amend a booking but I really don't know what that means? I mean it does not seem to say specifically what you are allowed to amend? Could you put the hotel in someone else's name? Because my in-laws may be interested in taking the trip. (I would myself, but work issue with wife and I, no time off).
Could I simple switch the name on the reservation from my fathers to my father in law's ???
Just wondering if anyone had experience with these things.
If you want to cancel those bookings, just don't do anything. Just leave it as it is. No one will care.
Alternatively, if your father-in-law wants to take that room, just let him go to the hotel and say "I have reservation under the name of John Do."
Simple.
So you are very sure that hotel club will not charge anything
for the no show? I just remember way back when this thread was active some people seemed to think you would be charged the full price of the room?
For the name thing I have to admit I thought the same thing too. No one ever asks me for ID. I did figure he could just show up and do exactly what you said.... I guess we were kinda scared, it involves a 10hr drive so I mean I did not want them to get there and its the one time the hotel asks for an ID...

I've tried about 5 no-shows due to last minute hiccup and was only charged for a dollar or two cause the rate was $51 or $52.

I canceled a reservation and got $50 back in my account with no expiration.

I actually tried both. I canceled one booking, so hotelclub charged my credit card the $15 cancelation charge. I did get back my $50 bonus, which is still active.
On another booking I did nothing - and guess what, nothing happened at all. So I had no credit card charge, even though it was a no-show. However, I also did not get my bonus dollars back.
I have called to change my reservation for next week hotel in Bangkok and she told me it will be $5.00 change fee but room rate had changed and it would cost me $15.00 so I did not change. But it is $5.00 change fee.
I recently canx a one night stay through the web site. I wasn't charged the canx fee and they put the $30 back in my account which I just used on another reservation. I canx about a month prior to the day I had reserved.

I had the same experience. Cancelled via the website, was not charged anything. In fact, the process actually helped to preserve my promotion dollar, which have otherwise expired.
