I am living in US. I found something interesting about how hotelclub process the transcation.
I booked couple room. Most of the transcation I used AMEX. and 1 transcation I used MasterCard.
AMEX statement show = HOTELCLUB BRISTOL
MasterCard statement show = HOTELCLUB.NET INTERNET GBR
MasterCard consider it is a foreign transcation and charge 3% more (FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEE*FINANCE CHARGE).... anyone has this situtation too?? or just me???
So my question is... where the transcation being process??? Globle office? or Great Britain???

I have not once been charged a foreign transaction fee by my card. All of mine show up as HOTELCLUB INT

My Visa statement showed something similar to your Mastercard statement, and I was charged a foreign transaction fee.

Someone else mentioned it, but I received my amex bill today and all of my cancelled reservations in hotels above $50 have been re-credited to my amex. At least that seems to be working out ok.

Good to know
I wonder what they'd do in the case of non-refundable reservations? I doubt the hotel would give HotelClub their money back and lose that stay.

What sort of bookings are having cancellations? $1 per room or everything?
I know about 10 individuals who have no booking cancelled (around 400-500 nights total, booked from summer til today). So this is hardly a global problem (yet).

All of mine that have been fully cancelled were anywhere from $2 to $80, but not all of these have been charged-back.
A big problem is that the "in process" cancellations have still not gone through. The HC "print-voucher" page claims that the hotel has been contacted and they are waiting to process the cancellation.
This is B.S. I think these were all pre-paid in full advanced reservations and I am guessing the hotels don't want to give them any money back. This may be where the previous poster experienced the hotel manager who told him that HC was claiming "fraud" to cancel the reservation.
They are probably throwing the "fraud" word around to pressure the hotels to charge-back the HC CC and cancel these reservations.
They haven't credited back my accounts for the in process cancels either and probably won't unless the hotels do.

These will probably have to be disputed.
Why don't you just call the hotel and "confirm" your reservation? If the hotel refuses to give HotelClub their money back, and you have ID that shows you match the reservation name that it was booked under, they'll probably let you stay. Not everyone is like the Luxor Las Vegas incident.
You give up too easily

Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Hold up on the judgments here!
Who's given up anything?
I am currently trying to figure out exactly what is happening here (so far this is my best guess/speculation) and won't be making any calls until I get a bit closer to the stays, one of which is happening relatively soon, so I'll know one way or the other.
The other ones are off in the future and it will probably be more convenient to dispute than stay at these hotels as they are inter-mixed with other fully-cancelled reservations in less-convenient locations. This is what I was referring to in my earlier post when I said that they were f***ing with the cancellations, the in-process stuff and the few uncanceled ones.
And BTW I would actually be mortified if anything like the Luxor incident happened to me, so this will weigh on my decision in the end if the GM of the hotel isn't 100% on my team on this one.

No judgments, you just sounded like you were conceding. Now that you've cleared it up, I commend you for seeking after the rooms. I'm sure they'll honor them if the reservations still stand. If the hotel mentions the word "fraud" tell them you'll bring in 3 or 4 pieces of ID - that you have no idea what HotelClub is talking about. Talk to a manager, not a lackie.
I wouldn't personally be mortified if the Luxor incident happened to me, I'd just tell the manager that its no way to treat a customer, that I can't be accused of fraud because my reservation matches my credit card and real address, etc. I'd offer him cash to show him I'm not cheating anyone, hand him my passport, my ID (I assume a casino can check that an ID is real and not a fake). Fraudsters generally don't help identify themselves.
Personally, I think there are a few holes/embellishments/***tstirring in the Luxor story, but i'll leave well enough alone.
