yes I opted to use the 50 dollars, but now it says I only used 8.56 weird.

That's interesting. Thanks. Are the rates any different at ratestogo and asia-hotels?

At asia-hotels.com they are the same, but this side offers more hotels than hotelclub.com (at least for SEA aka southeast asia ... )

I just finished my booking for one night in Bangkok next may without any problems and by using my 50 $ member credit ...

There are some crazy low rates on RatestoGo. The Quality Hotel Chateau Canmore/Banff for $68 USD. Strange considering we're entering prime ski season. Too bad, though, as it wouldn't accept the $50 for the booking - it said I'd have to pay the balance at the hotel, so I didn't book it.

You don't have it spelled right. It's www.hotelclub.com/us50 and it still working just fine.

www.ratestogo.com is the same as the "Last Minute" hotel bookings available on www.hotelclub.com. (look for the Last Minute section of HotelClub) You can't use all your member dollars and in some cases any member dollars to book. Worthless site.

Can someone shed light on this matter? As I am a little bit confused here..i thought in the long run my stay would be free then..can anyone shed light on this?

this is what i checked on the website
Reference Date Description Member Dollars
BNS 16-Nov-2008 Bonus - Free Member Offer USD 50.00
31867283 16-Nov-2008 Dollars Spent USD -8.76

Current Account Balance: USD 41.24

then payable to hotel USD42.16...weird

if you compute 42.16-41.24 i would have owed hotelclub only less than a dollar to be charged to my credit card..but now it says that I have to pay hotel 42.16 upon check in........
this is a big scam as I called their customer service right now.

I checked my booking with them and told them I used the 50 dollar off coupon and they told me I need to pay the hotel 42.16 for 1 night when in fact I used their coupon...I am just gonna cancell it and leave it at that then.

I get the impression that the number of nights even the ambitious flyertalker will actually book under this deal are self-limiting. Essentially, your travel days have to be pretty certain and the resulting price has to be better than what you would likely find on priceline. Also, as you move forward in the calendar, the rates seem to go up -- the best deals are for dates closer in. And even most of these "better deals" are at Quality Inns and such (hotels with price points not much above $50). That said, I have found some good rates with Hilton family hotels.

Even with these limitations, this is certainly one of the best hotel deals of the year. I wish something like this popped up every 3 months or so.

I've been trying to use it mainly for rooms that come out for free. The only time I actually shelled out the cash were for two nights in Yellowstone next summer ($15 per night after coupon) and a nearby stay at a Ramada in Bozeman for $12/night. BRG rooms are almost impossible in that area.

It's a great coupon, but I agree, it's self limiting.

This is definitely one of the best offer. I am already booked 6 nights in Asia and saved about $300.

However, I have a feeling that some i***t will call hotelclub and ruin for everybody. So, my reservations maybe cancelled because of him. I wish that person would read up about three rules of handling fare mistakes.
