gotcha.
Your saying it is better to call the hotel and tell them I am not coming, be out my $8 bucks and let it go.
Or if I cancel via Hotelclub I'll get charged $15. Just curious, if I pay $15 will I get the $50 hotelclub credit back for future use?
MY POST #410: Oh-so-thank you, OP roadtripman & tmhwk #5 ! I just used http://www.hotelclub.co.uk/tube/ and got $49 which is > the promised £25!
Next ?? : Which hotel chains will still award points & night/stay credit on hotels booked via Hotelclub?
I have found part of my answer on hyatt.com :
1. "An "Eligible Rate" is any hotel published room rate, including, but not limited to, rates found on hyatt.com, hyattplace.com, hyattsummerfiedsuites.com or any Hyatt Gold Passport Hotel Partner website, prevailing rack rate, BAR, volume, AAA and senior citizen rates, etc. "Ineligible Rates" are discounted rates, including, but not limited to, any free night stays, Internet wholesale rates (such as priceline.com, hotels.com, etc.), traditional wholesale rates (such as GOGO Worldwide Vacations, Pleasant Holidays, etc.) ..."
2. "When booking pre-paid vacation packages through a traditional wholesaler at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in the U.S., Canada or the Caribbean, member will receive 500 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points for each night of the stay in lieu of points for the packaged room rate ... however, member will receive stay credit toward tier status and promotions..."
The rates I have seen on hotelclub.com are usually rates published on hyatt.com, so therefore should be Eligible Rates per the above! In contrast, some other chains (Hilton, Marriott ? , IC ? ) do not give points & credit on stays booked via travel agents, other Websites, etc.--even on otherwise eligible rates.

Brendan, I was wondering this very same thing myself - stay/FFN credit with Hyatt.
I am a bit leary to pull the trigger on Hotelclub, because I read about others who booked via Expedia, and were told it was an 'ineligible rate.' Just because it's the same price as Hyatt.com's rate doesn't make it eligible, I guess...
So, unless somebody can confirm this stay would count as an eligible one, I'm not going to try...

The rates published on hyatt.com are just that - rates published on hyatt.com
Just because the rate on any other site is equal or higher than the on hyatt.com doesn't make it eligible. While you may get lucky, I wouldn't count on it.
Has anyone else noticed the poor job this site does with identifying their hotels by city? Like try to find a hotel in northern New Jersey. It seems almost random: the hotel could be listed in Newark, Paramus, New Jersey/New York metro, etc. Sure, when you're saving 50 bucks you'll play around with it, but for regular customers, it's a mess.
I agree about the lack of user-friendly search options on their site. What I would really like is a map that you can click on to search for cities. If I am going from pt. A to pt. B it would be nice to have a map with towns or cities in between with participating hotels. That way I don't have to look up every city on that long list to find which ones have participating hotels. That being said, My friends and I are enjoying are our 80 or so reservations. Thanks roadtripman!

In searching for Austin, Texas a Holiday Inn for Austin, MINNESOTA was listed among the Austin, Texas listings (for many weeks that I was searching...it may still be there). I've seen a few other cities where hotels that are 1000's of miles away are listed. The tech people in charge of HotelClub are idiots.
