Not saying it wouldn't work, but to minimize hiccups we usually spread it around a bit with different info. Afterall, there are a million John Smiths in the world, right?
Apparently March 31 right now, but the signup page says we should be getting only $20. But with these kinds of deals, plugs get pulled very often. They could easily cancel all accounts with $50 in them, or reduce them to $20. Or not. Cross your fingers.
My best advice, book now if you can. I've been holding back but no more. Besides, the $50 should expire off your account one week from Sunday morning (Midnight, December 1 in Australia) anyway.
We always use different CCs, different addresses (when possible), different family members, etc to minimize them matching names and accounts. If one CC number was used for 30 different registrations with 30 different accounts, but all with the same name and address...well that sure would be easy to cancel if they legally could...maybe they would just claim the hotel couldn't honor the rez.
Since I've already done many lets say even beyond what I posted, I've had no problems in having my reservations honored. There is nothing in the t&c's that forbid it.
On the hotels that are less than $50 including taxes and fees, I've used Visa gift cards that are already used up and expired and I'm having no problem booking the rooms.

Maybe it's just superstition, but we just do it that way. Fewer data points that match. Not saying it doesn't work, heck we'll even have to use the same credit cards if we use this promo enough, but still try and break up as much matching info as possible...and the visa gift card thing is always a great plan, especially when not using a branded card charged through a branded hotel site where you'd get the bonus points for the purchase.

Sure, they can terminate the account - but there is no provision in their T&C's for cancelling existing reservations that have already been paid/settled.
Regardless of what they do, I'll show up with the voucher. From my understanding, once I have that voucher, I'm set.
Play it safe and use visa gift cards, though. I've had no probs yet.
And, whats to say that multiple reservations under your name is fraudulent? Many of my friends have opened accounts for every member of their household, including their children - who then redeem for Daddy's business trip. Nothing against doing that, whatsoever.
Calm down, everyone. Just get your bookings in and stop speculating. Cross that bridge when you come to it.
And for the record, none of my temporary authorizations disappeared or anything. They've passed as per normal, and the ones outstanding are sitting pretty,

#2 doesn't apply to reservations already booked. This only has to do with "accumulated" dollars of which I could care less. I also wouldn't be worried about #6, that would never fly legally in my home state.

I agree, CalItalian, I'm not too concerned about the court system of a country 8000 miles away. Have fun extraditing me for "crimes".
The judge would laugh at them for not limiting these accounts to one per person in their T&C's, like every other membership program in the world.

Was just about to pull the trigger on some hotels but when I signed up more email addresses they only deposited $20 into my account.
Doesn't seem to be the case. Used the link recommended by FTers in the past couples of pages in this thread, and it worked fine. Another account, another $50.
I booked a hotel in Auckland. The price was USD$49.37. I clicked the box to apply my members' dollar balance of USD$50, and my charge card balance shows $0 balance owing. So, I entered my credit card info. It says my credit card has been processed and the room has been booked.
I clicked on the link for a copy of my invoice and it shows that my credit card was charged USD$49.37. Did I do something wrong?
So, I logged in again and checked my members' dollar balance and it shows $0.63 left so $49.37 of my members' dollars must have been used. I hope I didn't get charged anything even though my invoice shows USD 49.37 as being charged.
