But that is only £25. Was a time when £25 and $50 was pretty much the same. But now $50 is £33 the USD promo is definately the way to go.

You guys are good -- nice save on the Virgin link.

I just tried it and, despite the language on the bottom, it still put $50 into my new account.

As noted earlier, if you think you've got more rooms to book this month, open your accounts now while you still can.

Not quite true. Don't know when they did their exchange rate, but it certainly isn't dynamic. We've registered a couple different family members through the £25 UK promo and it always comes up as $49 in the account with an expiration of 12/31. So for people not able to choose their hotels by 11/30 then the UK promo is still the way to go.

Does that mean you actually have to book your hotel before Dec. 31, even though travel isn't until June 2009?

Does the $50 from the VIRGIN link expire in March or in November?

Yes, very useful to (presumably) delay booking until 12/31. Worth opening such accounts, as it's likely that this bonus will also get reduced.

Thanks!!

Apparently March 31 right now, but the signup page says we should be getting only $20. But with these kinds of deals, plugs get pulled very often. They could easily cancel all accounts with $50 in them, or reduce them to $20. Or not. Cross your fingers.

Bad news everyone....Hotelclub wiped these charges from our credit cards....I just looked at my credit card account and the temporary charges for multiple $50 discounts are all gone....check yours and see if it's the same

strike that....now the temporary charges are showing up again (weird)! I really, really hope Hotelclub honors the deal....it's saved me a few hundred bucks! I suspect if they cancel the charges, they'll email us soon thereafter to let us know.

We always use different CCs, different addresses (when possible), different family members, etc to minimize them matching names and accounts. If one CC number was used for 30 different registrations with 30 different accounts, but all with the same name and address...well that sure would be easy to cancel if they legally could...maybe they would just claim the hotel couldn't honor the rez.
