For what? Being naive? For not anticipating how much traffic something like this could create?

The level of immaturity some posters on this site show never ceases to amaze me. Like toddlers who dropped their lollipops!

i for one am pleased with LHW's response, and more optimistic re the promo, based on the new message, which confirms all the recent contact reports.

When they say "shortly" do they mean within the next few hours or more? It's midnight here in Tokyo..stay up and wait or go to bed and check in the morning?

I second that.

Those who regularly book hotels that are part of this chain are paying through the nose at VERY high nightly rates. These people are mostly paying for hotels and a program with high service standards.

So this time they screwed up. Big time.

So it's in their interest to fix it as best (and as fast) as they can or the service standards and exclusive reputation they are famous for will take a hammering...

For the tone of their response, it seems that it was a bona fide screw up, I was sort of disappointed that they couldn't meet all the fuzz the promo made, but for their own good, I hope they make it up with something equally cool...

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or whether this is a serious comment, but if it is the former, just how professional is placing someone's work e-mail address on porn spam lists? Pot. Kettle. Black.

If it was a serious comment, then my apologies, thank you, and welcome to FlyerTalk.

Dear xxx,

We are deeply sorry for today's disruption of the USD 19.28 sale. Demand for this promotion far surpassed our expectations, and due to the exorbitant amount of traffic to www.lhw.com/1928, we were unable to accommodate travel requests. Nonetheless, we intend on making every effort to honor the offer on a first come, first serve basis, and have devised a plan to enable you to apply for the USD 19.28 rate. (The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. makes no representation or guarantee that it will be able to fulfill your request.)

Please see the attached form for details. As a reminder, below is a complete list of the hotels participating in this promotion.
Thank You,

The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd.
