That's a very large userbase to not get anything at all.
Hopefully none of the FW or SD people will get in. At least then I won't feel so bad, as those morons will just try to list them on ebay.

This is a pretty piss-poor promotion though, and one would have thought they'd of been a bit better prepared.

Exactly. Even if the website was limiting access to a set number of users at one particular time, with 6,000 nights available I would have expected at least someone here to have scored something.

Ok, so reservations claims that 1) "many" people have been successful and 2) that "over 100,000" people signed up. If it is the case that, say, 120k people signed up, why is their website so f'ed up?

anyone try emailing [email protected] ?

"many" does not necessarily mean 3000. (6000 nights / 2)

I emailed Ani as well. I have been a member with LHW since 2002--I have not stayed with them for over 4 years and stated that this promotion fiasco just drove me further away

I guess this is the guy that we need to talk to directly. See how many hours of time and productivity wasted.

Now I'm getting:
Due to the overwhelming number of consumers participating in this promotion, we regret to inform you that due to technical difficulties beyond our control the 1928 promotion has been suspended indefinitely.

how can you be further away than not having stayed at one for 4 years. Think they care?

I posted Zerounian's details earlier. She is responsible for "media relations,
including securing media coverage of existing corporate programs, the development of new public relations initiatives, the day-to-day interaction with the media and management of the company’s overseas public relations agencies."

I suspect responsibility for today's fiasco might rest with -

Marshall A. Calder
Senior Vice President, Marketing

Marshall A. Calder was named Senior Vice President of Marketing for The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. in May 2003. He had previously served as Senior Vice President of Brand Management since May 1999, overseeing all aspects of the company’s first brand extension, The Leading Small Hotels of the World.

See if [email protected] works.

Angry

If this was a genuine promotion to sell 6,000 rooms at $19.28, there would not need to be a time limit in place.

The rooms would stay available until all 6,000 had been sold regardless of the time.

The queueing system that has been implemented alongside an 80 min timeframe clearly demonstrates that this was merely a ruse to get peoples email addresses for future use.

I am so mad right now....I need to find my blood pressure tablets!
