Who's going? Add your name here. If folks see that quite a few are going, it may incentivize them. Could turn into some mini-DOs.

I was looking forward to this little adventure in Hokkaido, sadly I had to cancel as it clashed with another trip. Maybe they will repeat the offer next year, but I guess not as it sounds busy and a nice time to visit!

I'll post up some pics on the blog once I'm back on the plane in a few hours - the weather is absolutely spectacular though. I'm actually kind of sad I'm leaving tonight. Hokkaido is a seriously beautiful place.

I also cancelled my stay starting tomorrow. Stoked that you made it and the weather is good. I look forward to seeing your pics when you publish them

I didn't realise the KAL007 memorial was there! Now that the weather was superb, I actually got a chance to explore the place a bit. Oh god I love Hokkaido in good weather.

Yes, I tried it last summer.
+:
The harbour views are nice.
Free parking, 5mn to the train station and 5-10mn to the ferry terminal.
Our room was spacious.
-:
A bit dated.
Only one washing machine for the self-service laundry.
Rooms: classic Hokkaido Crowne Plaza fair, equivalent to the other Crowne Plaza I tried in Hokkaido (Kushiro).
We didn't try the breakfast and the restaurant, and finally found no breakfast easily available around us.
The service was pleasant, as far as we used it.
The hotel offer in Wakkanai is rather poor, so there isn't much competition around, except 70's -80's style mediocre places.
We also tried Wakkanai Dormy Inn, and found it had a better value: the breakfast was very nice (the choice of dishes, not the breakfast room, which is average), the included onsen, the self-service laundry, and also nice high floor views.

I stayed there during the last summer, so I did not benefit from this promo.
