Well either way that's a good thing if they charged his card, seems like better chance of getting it honored that way.

Yup.. charge is still there.
When i goto my upcoming reservations it still shows, it just says "modified"
When i click the reservation it says it cannot be viewed online

No emails from IHG, so I'm assuming theyre still honoring this. especially if they charged my card.

Watch Your Bill

Just watch your bill at that place. We were charged $16 for a shuttle to the airport that appeared on our credit card however the shuttle is free. I called ihg and they called Crown Plaza to confirm the free shuttle and I was told the hotel wanted me to call them. I refused since it was an international call and told the rep to have them call me. Of course they never did so I disputed the charge with my credit card. That place has "shady" written all over it.

My reservation says rate modified as well... and stay says "Non-Qualifying Rate".

I was going to use this for the current Global Promotion

Don't you only find out if it is "qualifying" after the stay? Also, I think in the end if they end up honoring the rate, but it posts as non qualifying, a simple call to IHG will have them change it to qualifying.

My resi showed "modified" as well but I was not able to access the resi via the ihg website or the app. Called IHG and cxled the reservation.

You cancelled, not the hotel. Right? I intend on staying, hope they don't cause a fuss.

Yes, I cxled. If you plan on staying, I recommend you try to check your actual rate or try check-in before the hotels cxl deadline

I am unable to see my reservation online either, but I just called the hotel to add a second name to my reservation, and there were no issues.
