Beware of OTEL.COM
booked a hotel in Goa India on March 23 2015. Check in date Dec 11-18
7 nights, Holiday Inn they immediately charged $ 227 and send me a
confirmation. Checked today on their website.. booking showed CANCELLED status. Called them on 855-202-4423 the number on the
voucher they had emailed me.. the phone has been disconnected. Chatted
with them on line, the guy replied "please wait as I check your booking" 2 minutes later the chat got disconnected... I am disputing the charges with
VISA.. but folks may want to be aware of the fraud... of course I will never
be dealing with OTEL.COM in the future....

OP, please keep us informed how this turns out. I've had many (i.e. 15+) successful bookings with them in the past, and would hate to hear that they are no longer reliable. I hope that you will try calling them again, and let us know how this gets resolved.

It is also sometimes a sign that they have changed their contact number.
Otel did this in July and notified people on their mailing list in that month.
Websites suddenly going down are often a sign of insolvency .As of today otel together with sister sites DHR and Galahotels look very healthy.
To the OP.
My reservation in Goa is still confirmed together with a number of other reservations.
If they have cancelled your reservation without your knowledge then that is not good but I think calling this action a "fraud" at this early stage is a bit harsh.
They of course owe you an explanation and an apology and if the reservation is not reinstated need to reimburse you immediately. IMO some sort of compensation should also be offered such as a credit voucher towards a future booking ...but somehow I think that might be unlikely.
Good luck.
