Well I wouldn't put much faith in a DD reader post but am curious about this. Five days have passed since the "non-refundable" confirmed booking and not a word from booking.com nor from the hotel so I assume no news is good news and I won't be calling the hotel to ask for confirmation on a confirmed reservation. I don't see how this could be unilaterally cancelled (though I imagine the hotel would like to scare some people away.) Interestingly, booking.com no longer shows the property in any searches that I did (for other dates) but Priceline (same company) does.

I am a travel agent and will be making a serious stink if they turn my family away when we check in.

I just used my booking.com conf number to search in spg.com, under "find my stay". Looks like my stay has been cancelled.

Same here. I can find the stay, but it writes "Cancelled" beneath it.

We have found your reservation. It is not possible to display this particular reservation online. This is usually due to an unusual or complex rate or set of rates associated with the reservation in question. For questions regarding this reservation, please refer to the original booking source for more information.
Cancelled: 39242692"

still looks good on booking.com

I got this, but it does not say cancelled. I searched by confirmation number and credit card number. However, my credit card has not been charged yet.

All mine cancelled on SPG as well. I submitted a follow-up to Booking.com to confirm my reservation will still be honored. Think in this case it will be on them more than SPG.

Mine were fine yesterday when I looked on SPG website.

Today, it shows as canceled. A temporary charge never showed up on my credit card which is strange as the rate was prepaid.

Booking.com does say the card may be charged at anytime -- probably why the charge didn't show up.

Would it not be better to just keep quiet until much closer to the check in date? The later the official cancellation, the more unfair it would be, thus increasing the chances of a reinstatement!?
